Start with Cressy on his own with McDonald, Flynn, Willo supporting.

Good idea but not too sure it would work. I dont think we're smart enough. I reckon if we played one up we'd leave him isolated. It COULD work however providing the supporting players were switched on the whole game and moved into positions to support him when we had the ball.

I'd go for a midfield three of Williamson, Doyle and McDonald with Flynn and O'Halloran playing wide off Cresswell.

Effectively a 4-3-3 going forward but a 4-5-1 when defending.

I wouldn't want O Headless starting to be honest, but I think he will. As hes' obviously got pace why not swap him and stick Willo up and O Headless out on the right to run their left back and keep him quiet???

The system works but as you say only if the supporting midfielders do the job, which is a big if especially at home

I would go with Cressy up front,Quinn and Doyle centre mid with McD just in front pushing on and taking people on in the final 3rd of the pitch. Flynn and Willo wide. With Doyle and Quinn in centre mid we should win more 2nd balls than we did last Saturday against them and we should be able to pick up Freeman's runs.

I would play Hill instead of Taylor because he is quicker than Taylor and better in the air. Both are as poor as each other defensively

It's not about the positions they start in, it's about the positions they get into that matters. Stevenage are no mugs though, they will knew that our most potent threat now Ched's out of the picture is going to come from the right hand side.
were buggered anyway,we wont out score stevenage in both games-they have the impotus-we have bagpuss.
season over.

Sounds like a plan that. I'd sooner have K Mac pushing as you rightly suggest. I think he's wasted playing deep.

I think our most important job is keeping that lad Freeman quiet for 2 games, given that he absolutely bossed the show last week.

As for formations, I think I'd have to keep it as it is and go with Cresswell and O'Halloran up top

The key is to get a result at their place otherwise if we are chasing the game at home we will have real problems with the speed they can break. I'm sure if we come back to the lane with a one goal lead or even level then we shall win through to Wembley.
