I bet some obscure Aussie knows all about the 3rd division, what the strengths and weaknesses of each team are?

More importantly he will have a file full of which lower league players are the best signings?

God help us if we go down that route - it really is the cheap option.

Rosler and Poyet have been involved in English football for years, not sure if Arnold has even been on holiday here.

You know what. The more I think about it the more I want this guy. Now McCall and Robinson have F'd us off why not? He's managed a national team. Played in Europe, just won his domestic league. Why not?

Arnold would fantastic IMO. probably the best manager in Aus. Pros are:
* Used to managing with no money and having his best players sold midway through the season (e.g. Tom Rogic sold to Celtic)
* Took a team reknowned for hoofball and made them play an attractive but muscular style - probably quite suited to what United fans want / expect. His teams are organised and hard to beat
* Good at bringing through local youth
* Good atmosphere among players - team seems very down to earth
* Has some links to the club (McCabe, Monty), so probably knows what to expect, without being too close to the problem like Morgan

I think the chances of getting him are low though...
