After our 2-1 victory over Notts County, 6 years ago.

“That, my friends, marked the beginnings of the return of proper football to S2 after far too many soul-destroying years.

We did what I've seen others do to us far too often and far too painfully. Pass, move, pass, move.

I'm quite emotional. I think Weir going to get our SUFC back.”

Martin Luther King?

Kevin Mcdonald after his 'scuffed' shot put him into a legendary status for so many Blades.

We played so well that night, I was convinced we were going up if we could do that every week.

I once said Harry Maguire was destined to be a Championship defender when in League One with The Blades.I felt his apparent lack of pace would hold him back...Got a big dollop of egg all over my face with that.

Think we all are guilty of making proper tits of ourselves from time to time..Some more than others but you know what,it all adds to the attraction of forums. It wouldn't do for us all to be same.

It was hugely encouraging performance, and I thought we were really onto something. Then Wolves triggered KMaCs release clause, and I remembered what it was to be a Blade at that time. 😟

Weir was a car crash by the end, but I can't say that I didn't feel hugely sorry for the bloke. He looked ill by the time he was done.

If I remember rightly, Weir tried getting the players to play in a style similar to CWAK?, not exactly overlapping wing backs, but something that he said all the big foreign teams played, not 4-4-2. He said it in an interview I read. But the players just couldn't adapt (or didn't want to?), and it all fell apart.

I felt sorry for the bloke when he was interviewed on Radio Sheff, and was asked about the rumour that Marlon King was coming in, he said no, it wouldn't happen. A week later, guess who rolled up at BDTBL, a low point if ever there was one.

I remember it being 4-2-3-1 with KMaC being the key player in the middle of the 3. Everything pivoted around him and it all went to shit when he left.

The King signing was bonkers and the sign of a club panicking if ever I have seen it.

It's unbelievable how positively that season ended considering where we were after a dozen games.

It was all about transition as I remember. Still contributes the odd non contentious post if I'm not mistaken. :shark::tumbleweed:
