Who picks the team?

Can I just say how glad I am that we've got a proper football club structure where the manager agrees a budget with the board and the manager (with maybe a bit of assistance) is then responsible for who is signed, who isn't and who leaves the club and who doesn't.

I'd hate it if we were one of those clubs where the manager is actually just a coach and it's the chairman and board who decide who to sign etc. What would be even worse, was if the chairman was directly influenced by his 10 year old son who views it like playing a real life computer game and when it all goes wrong blames the coach and sacks him after only a few months even though he's only a puppet.

That would be awful wouldn't it?

I'd much prefer things that way, we might have actually signed a centre back already if we had it that way. Players are signing for the club, not the manager
