Really pleased with today’s business.
Both talked about on these pages for some time and both eventually paid off.
Osborn is seemingly competition / cover for Fleck and Stevens and whilst Lundstram seems to have a new lease of life I still we are short in centre midfield, with Freeman and Morrison having previously operated further forward.
Whilst Jags brings in a lot of experience and Bryan hopefully providing competition, I still also think that we are short of a quality defender, certainly CB.
We still have a premier league loan signing available to us should we choose to use it - Callum Chambers anyone?

I know who’s next. But I can’t say, in fact all I can say is 👀 and “watch this space”. When it’s announced, don’t worry I’ll be retweeting it with “Aye” to confirm my knowledge all along.

Blimey there must have been some improvement in Bryan if we are talking about him providing competition for a place in a premier league team Jackpot !

Need a striker and a Premier league experienced player
Experience. Why?
Quality over experience. This quoting of 'experience' is absolute overrated nonsense. You want someone who is good enough. End of. Whether they have played in the premier league or not is irrelevant.
People should stop assuming that experience means quality. It doesn't. It's a different meaning.
We need players who will improve the quality of our squad - for first XI and competition.
At this moment in time I reckon another CM, a striker and we need quality cover/competition for JOC. If all of those come from the championship, of players playing well week in week out (satdi tuesdi satdi tuesdi….) then take that quality and hunger and work with it.

After all, Hendo was crap wasn't he? Had no experience at championship level coming here.....

so having a team with not much premier experience is healthy

McBurnie sorts the strike force but I still think CM looks a bit thin. Norwood, Fleck, Lundstram and Osborn are our main current options with Freeman, Morrison and Basham as players who specialise in different areas but who are comfortable playing in there. Is that enough? Not sure personally and I would like us to sign a ball winning CM, even if just for cover. I did read though that Morrison had played most recently as a deep lying playmaker, but I don't know what his tackling is like nor do I think that is what we signed him for. Chris has already talked about him being the guy who can conjure up a bit of magic, that's normally something you get in the final 3rd.

The clubs who signed the likes of Jamie Vardy , Delli Ali , Kyle Walker , David Brooks to name but a few must have been out of their tiny minds .

Any footballing expert could have told them that without any previous experience in the Premier League , it was inevitable that they would all turn out to be the flops we now recognise them to be , right ?

Wilder is an absolute genius at identifying players at a lower level who can cope with the step up. You would think this would get harder as you climb the leagues but I'd much rather go down the route we have than sign aging premiership players looking for one last contract.

Theres not a player around our first team squad who doesn't have something to prove and I really believe that come the end of the season we are going to have some £20m players that Wilder has picked up for peanuts.

“Woolford and Hammond are exactly what we need - experience”

Believe it or not Woolford has just secured another pro contract for next season.

No idea how he does it. I've seen him play a few times over the last 2 seasons playing as a CM for Grimsby and the game has bypassed him on every occasion.

Bryan has been solid in pre season, Slater is the direct competition for Fleck and Norwood
