Further apologies to the punters in the Lion pre Slumderland game following my ‘queer turn’ disrupting you supping.(& thanks for help support from everyone in getting me ‘seen to’ so swiftly)
Taken to NGH by ambulance incoherent & incapacitated (for once NOT ale related - half of Guinness my only ‘crime’.)
Phone ‘mislaid’ & no (direct) means of communicating with family 120 miles away.
Incredible ‘detective work by hospital staff locates & speaks to my partner who advises of salient details including purpose of my journey.
As I’m ‘recovering’ in A&E (22:30 hrs) I’m approached by a ‘receptionist’ who has left her post to locate myself having spoken to my partner
First things she says is “ They’ve won 1 -0, !!!!!!!!!!
(Only) Then proceeds to advise she’d spoken to & reassured my family.
Any farmer that is greeting about Inheritance Tax can get tae fuck

These really are outstanding folk that should be treasured.

Sorry to hear you’re in A&E, not sure I understand the rest but they’re obviously looking after you if they can get the result to you intraveiniously 🤣

Having been pulled back to this world by the very same people recently I will add my admiration to the sentiment appreciating every day they’ve given me.

Don’t clap for the nurses, pay em wot their worth.

Sounds like a good night for both the Blades and the NHS. Long may they both continue. A few more games like Friday’s and there’ll be more of us needing TLC🤣 Hope you are back in good health soon
 
Hope you're recovering ok mate and being a Blade myself of a certain age I have seen many highs and lows during my 50+ years but I'm so enjoying the current Wilder era.

Totally agree about the NHS, they're amazing.

Nothing more important than good health so best wishes.
 
Firstly, apologies to hear of your conveyance in a big yellow taxi to hospital and I wish you a speedy recovery!

Of course I am completely bias, however it is the people of the NHS that make it such a fantastic organisation and hold it all together, when it is fractured in so many places beyond safe repair.

Of the £1.7m employees, a very large percentage are within the lower pay bands and this includes a large number of specialist clinicians. Verbal, physical and sexual assaults of NHS clinicians are at an all time high, along with workloads, pressures and demands. Yet powered on caffeine and dark humour, we all continue to keep chins up and do the best that we can for the general population!
