Based on that criteria, out of those options it's got to be Iliman.

Probably should have added the question to the post title though. As more people add their opinions, this is more and more likely to not get read.
Kyle walker is shit

Illimam is the most skillful player ive seen, for players i loved watching duffy and didzy, for being irreplaceable jack and longevity its billy all my humble opinions

I don’t want to sound crazy, but in the 19/20 season, if you replaced O’Connell with and average Premier League centre back (think Steve Cook), we would’ve finished 16th, 17th, or been completely relegated. That’s how important he was to that team. He was a Champions League level defender playing at our stadium most weeks,

Falcon.....sos
Bash just for his toughness
Ndiaye for skill
Billy just for scoring...plus a little bit more
Duffy bounce killer for obvious reasons
Chuck another one in
Leon
For his double against the unwashed and 4 v hull

Exactly he was THAT important to the system
And no coincidence our steady drop off in the run in in the covid season and then after 20 mins ( or whatever ) against Wolves never played again
Lad had the world at his feet … and head

Michael Brown - 22 goals from a genuine all round midfielder in one season is just on another level. He was like a cheat-code that year (2002-03)

Ndiaye easily the best player this century.
I don’t have the benefit of seeing Woodward and Currie etc. as my first game was 1991/92 season. Ndiaye and Gibbs-White are by a long way the best players we’ve had since I started watching.

You can argue others in terms of legend status and goals scored etc. but the 2 best footballers are those 2 by some distance.

Best player on an individual level is Iliman Ndiaye by a mile.

Most important player, however, is Jack O’Connell. Led by example and by dint of being the best LCB in England, saved us from the abyss. It’s fitting that he got the goal against Ipswich to seal promotion to the top flight.

My top 5 since 1970 (at least 100 games for us)

1. Currie
2. Woodward
3. Ndiaye
4. Jagielka
5. Brown

Very difficult it almost turned into a “since 2000s blades all stars X1” Bash and Jags at CB, NDiaye and Brown in mid with Didzy playing behind a front 2 of Sharp and Beattie

Didzy is my favourite but Ndiaye is the one I think was the best.

Hard to say isn't it because it's whether you mean best for us ie most important (Billy or Bash) or best/most talented footballer.

I reckon with how he's going at Everton Ndiaye will play for a top Champions League team.

I honestly think though that Jack O'Connell probably had the highest ceiling of them all. Such a natural, brilliant defender in how he read and covered danger, plus having a peach of a left foot, plus being able to get forward just when that's what the top Champions League sides and England were looking for... I reckon as soon as he was seen regularly for a more fashionable club he'd have had the big clubs swarming.

All conjecture but I really don't think we realise just how good he was about to be.
