reading the various threads on here it seems many are not rated. Monty, shed simmo etc.

So who in the current squad do you rate?

Who would you sign realistically?

Who I rate in the current squad (based solely on ability and ignoring salaries and likelihood of them leaving)

Lowton - Good player with lots of potential, surprisingly strong in the air for his size and a threat from corners.

Morgs - When fit he's still one of the better centre halves around at Champ level so should be awesome at L1 level if he recovers sufficiently.

Quinny - Our best footballing midfielder who, when not asked to rid himself of the ball at the earliest opportunity, rarely loses possession and looks to drive play forward

Bogdanovic - Didn't get much of a run in the side last season but did make a positive impact in quite a few games coming off the bench. If we're looking to play more football on the deck, Boggy should be a real asset. Despite what people say, he actually put some effort in and looked like he gave a shit when he was on the pitch and didn't hide.

Evans - Looked a decent player under Adams and, on the off chance we keep him, hopefully he can continue to improve. Not a £3million forward, but ignoring his alleged price tag, he'd be a decent player to have around at this level.

Maguire & Slew - Both good prospects, not sure they're as good as people are making out yet but should do well at this level.

Who I would realistically sign - This is a more difficult one. We lack creativity and the scum are supposed to be looking at Koumas and McIndoe. Both would be awesome at this level and if the grunters are interested there's no reason we shouldn't be able to stretch the budget a little to acquire them.

Scunthorpe loaned a youngster called Nunez from Leeds last season and the Iron fan at work rates him really highly so maybe we'd have a shot at getting him.

Other than that I'm struggling to think of anybody I'd be interested in. I would be extremely happy with the Fat Billy Paynter for Monty swap though.

Just goes to show everyone has differing opinions. Latters has rated two of probably the most hated along with Monty. I rate Quinn myself and as for Ched if we keep him this year and play to his strengths instead of asking him to head etherything then he will show the class that some think he has or he will prove the knockers right. If he cant score a shed load at that level then he never will

Lowton, has the potential to be a very good championship player. I like his effort and commitment and he has a good eye for goal as well.

Morgan, need I say more? Great captain, great defender. Not the worlds most gifted footballer but he's mr reliable.

Williamson, on his day he is one of our better players. If he can stay injury free and avoid silly red cards he can be a match winner.

Yeates, struggles to get into games sometimes. On a good day he can cause the opposition problems. Potentially a decent player.

Quinn, he can go through lean spells where he goes right off the boil. When he's on it he's very handy.

Latters, are you me in disguise? The players you rate are bang on the money!

Perhaps it just means there are two of us with impeccable judgment!

I would be very happy if we could keep those I mentioned and even happier if we could get rid of the rest and replace with youngsters and cheaper, probably better alternatives. We can dream!

Danny Green from Dagenham could be one to look at. He's a very talented winger, and he was involved in around half of Dagenham's goals last season. And he's only 22/23.

There's alot of talent in the lower leagues, it's just finding the right ones...

Another one I've just thought of, Donal McDermott. Come through the ranks at Man City, had a few loan spells the last couple of seasons. Looks a pacey, tricky left winger and is available on a free.

Sorry I rate monty does hell of a lot of work, okay not the most talented but never shirks his duty unlike a lot seem to do, or argues when he's been given a desion unlike some.
Like the look of Lowton also looked settled at centre half and did'nt waste the ball.

David McAllister. He'll be a big player in Division Three and higher. Pair him with Willo in central midfield. No more 'he can do a job on the right' for either of them.

Now is the time we need players who are for a position and not just do a job.

Morgs once/if ever fit should be immense in this league.

Lowton should impress too, but I don't see many of the rest as either committed to the cause or fearlessly driven. Let alone many who are dependable when we need to string together an attacking move. I really hope I'm wrong, or that DW can find it in them, but there's not much confidence to be had that many of the rest can perform consistently over 40-50 games.

For many it's a season too early and the rest it's 2 seasons too late.

yup, mcallister will be a regular in the middle i hope, with willo along side.that would be a solid middle in that shit division.

Morgan (When fully fit), Williamson (When fully fit), Maguire, Slew, Lowton

The rest of the squad can go and find a club stupid enough to pay them a wage.

No idea who to sign as I have no idea of what the budget is but it seems our budget is zero down with a further zero later. So any half decent player kicking around for free who isn't injury prone I guess.

Hope Mcallister does come through, as he looked good for half a game last season.
