October 1967. Wolves had been promoted to the 1st division at the end of the previous season, match ended in a 1-1 draw, Woody scored for us. Derek Dougan is the Wolves player on the far right. David Munks is next to him. Woodward is 2nd from left. Not sure about the two others (one from each team) that are furtherest away from the photo

Woody, Bernard Shaw or maybe a Wagstaffe brother, David Munks, "The Doog" Dougan

I Initially thought of Barlow but settled for Munks
I did think of Bernard Shaw at first but not sure if it was Wolves or us attacking the Kop End. If it was us, then Bernard Shaw is in his left back position but Munks and Dougan are doing there as they are out of their positions. If it was Wolves attacking the Kop End then it is unlikely to be Bernard Shaw. Maybe Mick Hill or Gil Reece?

Good point Silent Blade

Can't imagine the Doog strolling back for defensive duties ;)

Looking at Wolves' line-up from Cyprus Blade's link. The Wolves player on the far left has lanky legs so I think he might be John Holsgrove (a defender who later played for Wendy- his cousin was a teacher at my boarding school) so it looks like Wolves were attacking the Kop End

If Wolves were attacking the Kop End, then what was Bernard Shaw doing out of his LB position?
its hard to tell cus if wolves were attacking kop then woody is in a deep defensive position and shaw if it is him is in wood s position if goalkeeper was in view it would help to get it right

The United player far left looks like Ken Mallender..definately David Munks with the Doug...and I'll go for Holsgrove and Bernard Shaw aswell.

Is that John Short in the dug out - just to the right of Dougan's head?

Silent will know, in fact I'm expecting him to give us all the names of those on the John Street terrace !
Can't make out who's in the dugouts..could be John Harris with the bald head,as it looks like he's wearing a suit...Ronnie Allen was Wolves Manager...so maybe him stood in the other dugout.

Can't remember John Harris ever sitting in the dug outs. Another thing to observe is that a bucket on the touchline in between David Munks and Dougan? This will have had the magic sponge. That's what we want back. There were no groin injuries, calf strains and pulled hamstrings in those days!

It is John Short , Mr Harris assistant .

UTB
Probably you are right it was John Short, but Andy Beattie (managed Scotland in the 1954 World Cup) was appointed assistant manager from October 1967 till the end of the season, I think. John Short was still in the coaching staff (from 1961 to 1978, I think). Harry Latham would be the bucket and sponge trainer. Here is a photo of Andy Beattie

Looks to me to be Harry Latham in the dug out and Graham Shaw on the left as he always had his shorts high up.
Cannot comment on the player on the right.
UTB
Graham Shaw was released by the Blades in May 1967 so it is not him

Are they in the team to face Donny tomorrow?
