These are rarer than rare. Both long sleeved
I’m not disputing there rarity but are they any rarer than say Keith Edwards yellow and brown match worn 81/2 promotion shirt? I just think the older match worn shirts are growing in value anyway

They are but these have that little bit extra being long sleeves. The white patch over the number on the home too. These are shirts that were never available for sale.

I could add the sponsor and a number on the back of my short sleeved ones but they're still different.

They didn't start putting sponsors on replica shirts until 1992/93 (laces shirt)

The Daryl Westlake one is well overpriced. By about £149.

These will go real high now they're properly authenticated..

I suspect that he’ll be amazed at what he’ll get for those two shirts. I reckon it’ll be over £2k for the pair.

I love my shirts but I would not pay more than a few hundred for anything. Bit mad what people bid.

I'd love the yellow away ones from the 80's (before the lumo) and may bid a fair bit (and not get of course) and these are of course matchworn and player shirts are amazing but £740 and £400 quid+ and as you say will go higher? Crazy.

Some people must be insane! Seriously. You might wear it once or twice and get a few nods from fans but then it will go in a cupboard or be framed and never be let out for fear of it getting ruined!

Yeah i agree, however these things only make money. Sell on value. I got my 80’s & 90’s shirts around 7 years ago for £60 -£90. Now they are selling for at least double that, often more, altogether I spent around £700 on mine, i could easily sell them for a 150% profit fact they dont get remakes, plus the nostalgia, had them as a kid so getting them again means people will pay crazy money.

I think that the 2 shirts benefit from being rare, and although not belonging to a blades 'legend' come from very good provenance, they are also iconic & from our last golden era. I can see why the bids are high, and it's a funny one. People will bid high for their rarity, but when other ex players or collectors see the final sum, they might sell their similar shirts and drive prices down. There must be ex players with 5 to 10 shirts from each season in the loft.

If someone will pay £1k for a match worn Wood shirt from a season, what would they pay for a Deane or Agana from the Leicester game? £2k? £3k? £5k? or Deane's from the 1st PL game? £10k?

Yeah I get it and up to people what they spend money on. I have spent a load on shirts over the years but have a limit where I think what could I spend money on for family/holidays/essentials etc.

Suppose depends how much money you have but not sure I would ever pay more than £100 for a shirt and even then I would be twitchy bidding. As I say what will people do with them? Not like there are matches to even go to. They will just end up being framed and on a wall. Mind you I've got 100+ shirts in a big case in my attic so what am I on about?!

That white Laver shirt 😍😍😍

That shirt is an absolute beauty.

Isn’t the Adidas kit deal up this year? Would love Umbro to chuck their hat in the ring and just do reproductions of our lay 80s to mid-90s stuff. Just the attire for a tilt at the second tier.

Deans first shirt is a sore subject. the lad who had it sold it and wanted Deane to Authenticate it which pissed him off. it went on ebay for and insane buy now last year I think.

Anyway, Paul wood has now listed his other match worn shirts, including our 1989 long sleeved, embroided badges in mint condition. Iam gonna say, this will go for around £1100 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SHEFFIEL...617435?hash=item4dbb957a9b:g:Kq8AAOSwEBdgAwEV
I wasnt too far off. You wont see a player issue luminous 89 shirt for sale again, not on your nelly. I asked him for some tracksuits, he found some, but he decided to wash em and ruined the badges 🤷‍♂️🙄

Boom! The home shirt sold for £1,409.89. Big, big munneh. More than I was prepared to pay.
I thought the away would go for more because its so iconic. Ive seen old italia 90 and mexico 86 match worn england shirts go for less than them blades shirts. Wow i think the price paid is way more than what they are actually worth as the history behind them is 3rd division uk football, no glory, no famous player wore it, not signed. Just mean alot to blades really, nobody else.

Rarity, condition & providence. Fair play to winning bidder.

Just asking if anyone has an opinion on this shirt? I wonder if it might be an ex player worn? Sure I had a replica one, but it never had the sponsors, arm badges or a number like this one. Short sleeves though. I bought it about 17 years ago in a charity shop in St Helier. Pics are the same shirt despite difference in colours due to lighting.

Yes thats a player issue, 3 things to note, 1- its got a sponsor on front, you couldn’t buy those
2- The official umbro numbers, you couldn’t buy those
3- The badges are stitched, again, you couldn’t buy those

Incase you weren’t aware, a long sleeved player issue one recently sold on ebay for over a grand. You sir are a lucky git, I would kill go have that shirt in my collection

Thank you for the reply, very much appreciated, it’s good to know that my suspicions about it are correct. I loved that kit and bought it the instant I saw it, my old replica was getting tatty. It was only when I got it home that I began to realise it might be a bit more special.
