Whiteman

Young ‘un went with his mates to the game, hoping to see Whiteman play. He will come back disappointed. He was shown twice on telly looking fed up. Suppose that is what you get for £8.

Whiteman's been injured, missed the last game.

I went hoping the same..it looked like he was stripped off to come on with 15 left, then he was told to sit down and Alcock came on.
If he can't get in that midfield there's something wrong..2 poor sides on that showing.

Went to get ticket for child yesterday, woman asked if I wanted one, I might have been tempted but had to do some running around over lunchtime.
There were two lads from young ‘uns school wanting tickets and they were refused as not being members. Thought it was quite sad.

Only problem we had was having to listen to 2 Wendy fans sat behind us...the usual deluded stuff.

He's just been nominated for player of the month.

Rest assured he can and does get in Doncaster's team.

Must have been the recent injury then...went hoping to have a look at him today with United not playing..typical.

Given Coutts' injury and as mentioned by Bergen Blade I wondered this myself last night if Whiteman would be recalled at the end of his 6 month loan deal (due to end at the end of December)

There was talk of him extending this deal until the end of the season (Wilder mentioned it a week or so back) and then for us to look at him over the summer, but could he now come back and do what Brooks has done (albeit very different players)?

Personally i think we will try to bring a midfielder in quickly in Jan and leave Whiteman where he is to continue his development, but i'm sure its being considered

Whitemen isn’t the answer to replace Coutts. Doncaster fans are unsure on him also.

Remember Lundstram was one of the best midfielders in League one (apart from ours). So the levels between him and Lundstram will still be there.

I like Lundstram , notas cultured as Coutts but a big unit, full of strength , more brawn than brain but thats no bad thing, some of the best midfielders have to be that way

There was no suggestion that he would replace Coutts, but with Coutts out, it frees up a position at United

Whiteman may or may not be the answer, but we're short on numbers in midfield.

As it stands, with Lundstram and Bash at CM and RWB, our bench will have Carruthers and Brooks on it. Neither can play the Coutts or Fleck role.

Even if you moved Bash in there, I'm not sure we have anyone who could do a half decent job of RWB

If Lundtram doesn't perform or one of them gets injured or suspended, we're screwed. And we have 5/6 weeks and 8 games until then. And whoever we sign will likely take a while to be able to play our way.

I'm not aware of any development squad midfielders ready to step up?

Might sound harsh, but I'd rather see us pick up another midfielder that can cut it in the prem next season, as step up in class and money, I'm sure Wilders boys have a couple in mind.

I think this is my view as well, but wanted to gauge opinion. Whiteman is most probably better off where he is - gaining experience, dealing with things outside his comfort zone. If we can get a player of Coutts ability or better then it gives great competition when Coutts comes back.
