to SUFC, was all set to stay before a late change of heart from United

Not good enough, according to some Rovers fans.
Could we be using him as a bargaining tool for someone else ?

Interesting given the mixed reviews Roygbiv posted. Presumably Whiteman is cup-tied and unavailable for Saturday? Also, if we play him in January he presumably couldn’t then play elsewhere this season were we to then want to loan or sell him?

on Roys view from it mentioned he was being played out of position. Maybe Wilder wasn't happy about this as Whiteman looks promising. Still surprised as a full season in league one would do him some good.

Pleased with this decision. The boy is talented and is contracted to us so would prefer we give him a go rather than signing a PL academy player on loan in his position.

He has until the end of the season to break in to the team and prove he is good enough. He’s had two decent loan spells in leagues 1 & 2 now so it’s over to him to prove he can cut it here.

He’s cup tied I believe. Rovers will monitor him & might approach to take him back near end of Jan

Also, he’s being managed by Darren Ferguson at Doncaster so the lad is up against it as it is with a manager like him.

I still fancy this lad to do well for us.
Lets not forget Fleck wasn't that good for Coventry, only their 3rd best midfielder...

We can't have Whiteman and Blackman in the same team, it'll cause a rupture in the space-time continuum and may even be a sign of the coming apocalypse.

Does CW feel he's not getting enough first team game time with Donny?

Pinchy has just turned a deep shade of puce :(

I imagine we've recalled him to send him elsewhere (presumably Sarthend).

Either that, or are we are going to see how he does and knock the pursuit of Leonard on the head?

Think you’re right, reckon with Lunny stepping up we’ll go for a loan as competition and use Whiteman as cover/4th midfielder.

Yes cup tied and yes he can’t play for 3 clubs in any one season.

I doubt we’ll play him but maybe he could be a bargaining chip with another club, Southend potentially?

If nothing happens in our favour with other clubs he’ll probably go back to Donny I would think.

Strong athletic lad, box to box, plays a forward ball, good engine , knows where the goal is - 6 goals in 20(5) appearances. Assists not known.

Think this is a good decision to have a look at him over January.

He’s certainly got the goal scoring knack from midfield - something we have certainly been missing.

We are very short in midfield and I think he could certainly be an option off the bench. He’s got some game time in leagues 1 and 2 so we can see how he progresses given the chance at the next level.

My concern is wether he’s actually nailed down what type of midfielder he is?

Come on Pinchy let’s have it.
Little Louis back soon as well
