Whisper it, but Mcburnie played well!

If he got a goal like Ndiaye's first does that make his performance any better or worse? He did well leading the line in the air when pretty much being a "lone" striker ( granted he has all sorts getting up with him)

It'll come if he and we play like that.

Lead the line exceptionally well today, held it up well and showed intelligence to bring others into play. Should have had a couple of goals which will come at some point if he can find some consistent form.

His touch, interplay and occupation of goalscoring areas was brilliant to see. Previously he’s been too deep, too wide and lacking threat. All of that has been addressed.

Just keep doing that, Oli. 👍

His best performance in a Blades shirt today, looked the player we couldn’t handle when he played for Barnsley and Swansea. Deserved a goal.

When he’s only a foot away from the keeper there is very little room to put it either side of him , the keeper did well getting on top of him like that
Then find a team mate, move the ball to the side...something else then right at him. That's exactly what I'm saying he can't create room for himself, the other strikers do. He's not that kind if player. He's a target man.

This McBurnie love in is just so strange, mom ffs 🙈, he's on the pitch to get goals and he's quite clearly shit at it

An average championship striker say lyndon dykes, a £2m signing for qpr, who has replaced McBurnie in the Scotland team, scores 2 or 3 today
Thanks for helping him and therefore us though by not getting on his back. Keep up the terrific support 👏

Really good performance thought he flagged a bit at times just before half time and before he came off but that’s to be expected coming back from injury.

Put himself about got in good positions and definitely deserved a goal. Keep playing like that the goals will come for him and Brewster.

Fans were queueing up to get on pitch.
He actually reminds me of a more agile Chris Porter. A bit ungainly, often off balance but usually able to get a shot away. The goals will come if he continues to play like today.

Best performance in years for him. I said after his good cameo he needs to put in a good performance from starting for me to be convinced, and that was it. If he plays like that every week the goals are coming

He played very well.
Put in a ton of effort and was being pulled about all over the place by the giant cloggers in their defence. Unnoticed by the ref.

If Sharp plays like that, nobody mentions it. In fact, people would be saying he’s past it having missed those sitters (happened a few times last season when he missed one).

I’ve never had time for McBurnie but today and against Sunderland he was absolutely brilliant. He deserved that standing ovation and I had a tear in my eye whe McCall went to him and consoled him. McBurnie looked crestfallen because he hadn’t scored and throughout the match you could see how much he cared. That hasn’t always been the case but if he carries on giving as much effort as this he has the potential to be a real star at the Lane because the Blade fans love nothing more than a player who gives his all.

Keep it up Ollie, the goals will come.

I was as annoyed as anybody when he didn't stomp on that Notts Forest fan hard enough back in May, you've got to take your chances from that range. A trip to A&E is the minimum requirement at this level.

But as for the football match today, he put his heart and soul into that performance, and as well as being unfortunate not to score, he held the ball up well and played some smart balls onto the attacking line.

Desire covers a multitude of sins...it will come.

Yes I am. And Khadra and Brewster. And yes they are. One scores the other doesn't.

Interesting you should mention Brewster… who has a similar scoring record.

If all our strikers were fairly small and fast we’d be fucked. McBurnie takes a battering, makes the defenders work hard for every ball and generally drags the team forward by holding the ball up and being a focal point. No doubt if he plays like he did today going forward the goals will follow as well.

You’ve got an outdated view on what a forward is if you think they have to be scoring to be doing their job, though.

Everyone giving McBurnie man of the match today answer me one question honestly, if Norwoods free kick goes over the bar, the ball bounces off Ndiaye's arse and goes wide and Ndiaye gets brought down on the half way line for his wonder goal, the game finishes 0 0..... are you still on here giving McBurnie man of the match? (Honest answers only)

I do hope the goals will follow. I have more confidence in Brewster than McBurnie to score. And yes both records are bad for their price tags.
