Chaps,

We all seem to agree that we lack pace; so, who have been the red & white whippets in the past? Can only think of:

Kyle Walker
Nathan Dyer
Izale McLeod
Steve Kabba
Jordan Slew
David Cotterill
Ian Bryson?

Must have been more? Also who was the quickest?

UTB

Webber and Jags were both plenty quick. None, though, were faster or shitter than One Luton Shelton.

Oh, I forgot, Kat-man, Petr Katchouro was pretty quick as well. He was my favourite player when I was a kid.

Paul Devlin would give most full backs a five yard start and still beat them to the byline.

And I thought this were a thread about Dingles taking a pal to away games

Dane Whitethouse
Tony Agana
Jack Lester
Webber

But over 5 yards and where it counted most in the box there's no equal.... God! Keith Edwards Keith Edwards KEEEEEEEEEITH EDDWAAAAAARDS.

Didn't Ady Littlejohn win a 100m sprint competition on Saint and Greavsie or Football Focus or something?

Honourable mention to Captain Blade who as I recall failed to be among the competitors in some mascot race a few years ago and resorted to deliberately tripping up other mascots instead.

John Pemberton. Couldn't defend but was so quick he always had two chances at the ball. :)

The quickest one i've seen for ages was Michael O'Halloran last season. That quick he could catch pigeons, but shame there was absolutely no footballing ability to go with it.

The other one that struck me as being frighteningly quick over the years was Adrian Littlejohn

What about John 'speedy' McGeady. Now who remembers watch
ing him play in the 70's?

I think it was Saint and Greavsie but he finished second to John Williams of Coventry (aka the flying postman).

David Cotterill

God said:
Jack Lester

We saw him out of his suit after Wembley - Built for comfort not speed, bless him, so I am not surprised he resorted to those tactics :D

Alan Woodward always seemed pretty quick to me.

Bryson wasnt that fast!

Colin Collindridge
Eddie Colquhoun
Colin Franks (won a 100m sprint for fastest footballers)
Geoff Salmons
Brian Smith
Tony Agana
John Francis
Adrian Littlejohn
John Pemberton
Andy Campbell
Andy Scott

I'm not sure actaully how quick he really was but just for comedy value Claude Davis was our best runner in the premier league season, reminded me of an osterich (he's running technique, along with his ability to bury his head in the stand!)

Top ten since 90s:

1 Luton Shelton
2 Kyle Walker
3 Andy Campbell
4 John Pemberton
5 Izale McLeod
6 Jonathan Forte
7 Adrian Littlejohn
8 Steven Kabba
9 Andy Scott
10 Phil Jagielka

Andy Campbell Les?

Whatever happened to his parrot mate? Not a victim of the clubs austerity measures surely.

Trenton Wiggan was quick but had no control usually running the ball out behind the goal line.
