Last time against Wigan we kicked towards the Kop first. I wonder if that was our choice?

I think it makes sense. We seem to both score and concede more at the Bramall Lane end. We've conceded a number of late goals at that end. Being quite a first half team, I think our chances improve if we're defending the Kop in the second half. Kicking towards it in the first might also help.

Need to kick to the kop end in 2nd half, also give their young goalkeeper that much grief from the first second he steps his foot inside that 18 yard box.
I want to see him cry.
I think tonite we should kick into the Kop End first half ....

The pressure they will under is immense, anything to ramp it up from the start is in our favour

It could all be over by Half Time :)

There will be a strong south easterly blowing at kick off so makes sense to attack the Lane end 1st half. With our usual fast start plus the wind we could be 3 or 4 up at half time.

Makes fuck all difference.

No set of fans have ever 'sucked the ball into the net.'

If you voted for kicking towards the Kop in the first half you are the kind of person who puts milk in the bowl before cereal

Blades 3-1 Wednesday

Michael Brown scores the greatest ever goal in the Steel City Derby in the second half at the Bramall Lane end.

For some reason I read that as "With our usual FARTS plus the wind we could be 3 or 4 up at half time"

If we tell certain people on the Kop it's actually George Long there should be no problem

Kicking towards the kop 1st half is like p.utting milk in the cup before the tea or coffee

Feel sorry for the young 'un. He seems to be going the way of George Long. That said, never mind wanting to see him cry, I want to see him calling out for his mother.

certain things in life are sacrosanct. Of which the dictionary definition is "regarded as too important or valuable to be interfered with"

for the Blades:

It's proper red & white stripped shirts (and yes, both sides)
Black shorts
kicking towards the kop 2nd half
singing GCB before each half starts
disliking the Pigs

My Dad always maintained if United are kicking towards Shoreham Street second half and not losing at half time, they very rarely lose the game.

Over the period of the last 48 years I’ve found that to be pretty much correct.

We always kick towards Bramall Lane when we win the toss and get the choice. I hope we will tonight ;)

Maybe less so these days, but there's usually a slope on the pitch to help drainage and at many grounds it was towards the kop. Hillsborough and Newcastle used to have huge differences in height from one end of the pitch to the other.

Kicking downhill always helped, especially up at high storrs haha

NO no no no no, tea bag in first to be infused in boiling water gives you more taste, take that from a non tea drinker who hates the stuff. I mean look what it does to cups and spoons if they aren't rinsed out, god knows what it does to your innards :eek::eek:

As I said early in this thread that in the 1970-71 and 1971-72 seasons we usually kicked towards the Kop in the 1st half and scored more goals at the Lane End
