Which players do you want to see come to the lane?

I'm not fussed about names anymore, Clough has already demonstrated in his short time at United & his time at Derby & Burton that he is more then capable of sourcing players that can have an effect. For example, had anyone even heard of Bob Harris before he signed? Yet he has turned out to be the best signing Clough has made in my opinion. Same applies to Scougs.

Another reason why i'm not looking for any established names from elsewhere is because I also think for the first time we have a Manager who can utilise the academy to it's full potential. Dimiao, Khan & Kennedy are players I hope to see more of next season and I am sure people who watch u21 games can expand on the ones to watch (Calvert-Lewin etc).

To summarise; we're in a poor league where 'big name' signings aren't needed to succeed. We have a Manager who can be trusted to scout unknown talent and give youth a chance. Leave him to it.

I know Clough will probably sign someone I've never heard of and they'll do well, but in terms of people I know for the '3 quality signing's', I'd like any of Callum Wilson, Chuks Aneke, Jon Taylor, Conor Goldson, Nicky Featherstone, and at a long shot Dean Cox. That's assuming we keep loans (which we won't).

Agree with the sentiments above hadn't heard of Scougall or Bob Harris yet they've been excellent. If I was to choose myself I'd pick Billy Sharp, Jake Buxton (Clough factor) and Franck Moussa.

Nathan Delfouneso is out of contract this season at Villa.
He's under performed when out on loan over the past few years but he's quick has a natural finishers instinct, technically sound and badly needs someone to install some belief in him.
He's been playing at this level and could be a Clough diamond in the rough and the way we've played this season it would be to his strengths.
Young, something to prove, talented but lost his way - he could be perfect given the right support and time.

I was thinking the same earlier to be honest, promised much and delivered nothing to date. Got much to prove could be a real find and score plenty at this level.

Get two goalscorers ,not attackers and a couple of very strong physical players so we dont get bullied out of any games

If Posh don't get promoted, and they won't think Assambolongawoonga will get us the 20 goals a season we need! On the down side think of the cost of getting his name put on your kids new kit!
That Preston frontman Garner looked useful too but they may get promoted ,

I think it might be possible to field a full starting XI of former Blades who have returned to the Lane - from what I've read this will keep 93% of posters on here happy.

I'd start with Flynn, Murphy and Maguire improved deals first off.
Improved terms to Scougall even though he's only just arrived. A new deal would give him an even bigger lease of life next season and really make him feel that this is where he belongs long term.
Then get Brayford. I really think this guy wants to come here, I also think Cardiff would offload fairly cheaply, it's just whether we can meet him somewhere in the middle regarding wages.
Two centre forwards Callum Wilson from Coventry and Kieron Agard from Rotherham if they stay down.
Maybe a new centre half if Collins leaves.

= Promotion.

Also equals a nucleus of a team that will have Championship capability as well

Cody Mcdonald from gillingham has been hammering them in,aswell as Aneke.
We need the players that are capable of scoring at L1 level on a regular basis.
I think Wilson is on his way to Wolves ive heard.

Ideally keep the current loanee's and maybe add -

Wilson - Currently Hearts was a very good promising Centre half, so much so Liverpool paid a decent price for him. Got lots to prove after losing his feet and should be very tempted now Hearts are relegated and never pay there players!
O'Connor - Out of contract at Derby plays anywhere across the back 4.
Aneke - On loan at Crewe. Tore us to bits this season by himself. Very good combative powerful midfielder.
Delfouneso - currently on loan at Covenrty. Plenty of ability in his younger years gone off the boil recently and got lots to prove could be a real gem.
Wilson - Coventry player who as proved himself at this level this season. Very quick, young and hungry player. Might be a sizable fee but with coventry finances who knows.
Phillips - Still at Leicester, can't see him getting a game in the premeirship next season, might fancy another year in the game and could do a job for us at this level.

And my last pick is gonna be very controversial but another name into the mix-
Jermaine Johnson - Out of contract at the pigs and going to be released by all accounts. Can be a game changer at times and other times a waste of space. Only throwing his name into the mix because i feel we need another wide player to keep Flynn and Murphy on there toes. Might be worth a years deal.

He really does't strike me a Clough player. Has one good game in 5 and behaves like a tool for the other 4.

yeah your probably correct, and we have already got a player like that in Brandy. I keep forgetting that he still plays for us well for now at least.

Darius Henderson might struggle to get a look in at Forest next season.

Could be an excellent aquisition

Whatever we get, the choice has to be looking toward survival in the Championship, rather than just scraping promotion in this division. Which is why the expectation on the Prince is now maximised. It's simply not good enough to thank him for paying off Weir and his coterie, there needs to be a committed movement now toward strengthening the squad in all areas so that injuries and suspensions don't allow the team to lose momentum at the top of the table, and in mid table in the Championship. We don't want to be in the situation where we have to sub positions with out-of-position players and expose weakness. Cluff will be very adept in building this strength in depth as long as the board back him.

pommpey

Why would we sign an ex pig who is in your own words 'a waste of space'.

Congratulations, you've won post of the century.
