If we were faced with a penalty shootout in a play off semi final, who from our players (that are expected to take one) would bottle it?

My only thoughts are Clarke and maybe Hanson?? Only because I can't ever remember them taking one.

I'm pretty sure the following would have all fought on actually taking one...

Bash
Oconnell
Freeman
Fleck
Duffy
Coutts
Sharp
Carruthers
Chapman

Not sure if that is because the belief instilled in the squad is so high or what but I'd be disappointed to hear of any of those listed not having their name down if on the pitch.

Oh yeh, we have a near faultless season, pigs feck up and you want to hypothesise something bad about our players, seriously?

I'm not trying to be negative at all. I actually continue to state that I couldn't see it. Even by my theory on Clarke n Hanson, the thought is only because I'm not aware that they 'take pens'.

Maybe trie to answer the question posed?

A strange question to ask and one I'm not quite sure how to tackle. To transfer the scenario over i.e one of our strikers bottling taking a pen because they weren't confident enough...I simply couldn't see it happening. I think as long as you give Wilder all you've got, he's happy, as he's said all along. To not step up and do a difficult part of your job because you're a bit scared would be intolerable to a bloke like Wilder. I reckon even the least gifted, least confident player in our squad would still be happy to take a penalty because they'd want to do it for the gaffer, and the gaffer would be pleased with that.

I think Clarke would take one

Hanson I doubt would refuse if called upon, but I don't see him being in Wilder's preferred 5, I can't see him being a great pen taker and I don't think I'd be able to watch his gangly run up

John Matthews?

None. Why? Because we have a manager who makes average players think their part of Cryuff's dream team. We've waved bye or given ultimatums to mercenaries and wasters. We're no longer the club known to make average players millionaires. Pay £5/10 million for Middlesbrough reserves and you get players who ultimately think they've made it. They're set for life, most lose their desire to prove becaue there's no point. We've sadly seen it first hand in the last 10 years.

All none of them. Wilder would have them out the door UTB

clarke scored quite a few pens in his career hanson scored 1 for bradford earlier this season they'd be alright on penalties wouldn't put simon moore on one though

Check Hansons record he took them for Bradford so obviously he has the confidence

If he was still here: Dean Hammond

Thank **** we've moved on to having professional players and a team identity again. Long and Moore might be reluctant but somewhat understandable!

If James Wallace was still here he'd suffer 3 broken ribs, 2 fractured vertebrae, a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a ruptured spleen as he was stepping up to take it.

I see that the part timer Uddersfield fan has changed his avatar again.

Before you know it, he'll change it to a Blades badge and claim he's supported United for years......

Clarke is probably one of our most naturally confident players on the books.

Chewsea mayte, True Blue.

Where were you when you were shit?

As recently as 1994, Chelsea attracted just 8,923 to Stamford Bridge for a Premier League game against Coventry City not long after taking 34,000 to Wembley for an FA Cup semi-final against Luton Town.

Indeed, Chelsea’s smallest post-war crowd of 3,489 came in 1991, incidentally against Luton. It was in the Full Members Cup, mind you – also known as the Simod Cup and the Zenith Data Systems Cup during it’s brief, unglamorous lifespan.
