Sorry for those who may see this as a pointless thread but i wonder if any of the stats men on here could plot our progress based on NC's results had he been in charge from the start of the season?
More importantly though can they use the same predictions to plot our finish?

I really am buying into the current good feeling around the place.

Push on blades. Anything is possible....

Clough has been in charge for 13 league games and we have amassed 17 points. That's 1.3 points per game. Over the course of the season that would give us 60 points so around mid table form over a full 46 games.

If we maintain this points per game average of 1.3 for the rest of the season where we have 20 games left it would give us 26 points. So we would finish on 52 points. Which is right on the borderline of relegation.

It is difficult to get a general idea with such a small sample size, as it is easily influenced. Interestingly If we hadn't made a complete hash of certain games. (Gillingham), had a little bit of luck (Stevenage, Bradford) you could potentially be looking at an extra 7points added to our 17 already gained, which would give 24 points from 13 games at 1.8 points per game, which over 46 games is around 84 points.

Just goes to show take these figures with a pinch of salt as only a small change in result here or there can make a large impact on the end figures. I think it also goes to show that we aren't far away. It won't be this year but i expect next year to be a serious improvement. (Not that it could get much worse than this one!)

Thing is mate, Nigel's had to do this with someone else's team, so I think he's done well so far. Could be better of course, but with this lot we were never going to walk on water. Cloughie's done enough up until now to make me believe we'll survive. There might be a blip or two yet, but we're looking good after the new recruits gave such good displays on Saturday. There's also Billy to consider, he might be a bit rough round the edges, but his overall game is something we've been missing, so with the new attacking dimension we seem to have added we could begin to add those vital points soon. More importantly

Had we kept Weir, and cotiuedto amass points at the same rate, we would have fiished on 23 points
If we maitain the average PPG of Clough's time, we will fiish on 52-53 points (Had he been i charge all season we woul finish on 60-61 points)
If the manager makes not a jot of diffeence, and we maintain the season average, wewill finish on 46 points

That shows it very well.

Also shows that somebody is bored at work this morning.

Simply can't see where we would have got 23 points with Weir in charge.

You're Jim Phipps aren't you?

No!!! But he certainly is doing a good PR job with the fans. Always on twitter talkin to most who care to ask relevent questions.
Ita good stuff from the club who in the past have kept shop about most things.

youd have to factor in the factor that had Weir not plummeted us into a position of despair , confidence wouldnt have plummeted to lower than a snails trail, and we wouldnt have lost 12 games being totally wank and another 15 dragging us back off the floor , had we got some draws wins in the first 12 wed probably be in 8th / 9th
