What is a good finish next season?
Not what we wish for, but a realistic finish where we all stick together next season.

Automatic Promotion, Play Offs, Top Ten, Mid Table, One Above Relegation?

In a less flippant mode, I'd suggest that anything apart from a season long relegation battle would be a great achievement.

For me it depends entirely on what level of investment we receive.

As it stands, avoiding relegation, ideally mid table.

If, for example, we recieve the kind of investment that could change games for example, expectations may rise.

Mid table will be a great finish in the first season back.

I think we all know that no matter what he says to the media regarding expectations Chris Wilder won't settle for nothing other than promotion.

I think it would be a great achievement to finish in midtable mediocrity.

Optimistically, I'm hoping we might surprise a few a la 1989/90.

We're on the up. There will not be many teams in the Championship who will be able to say that next season.

Seasons of underachievement by most and teams in turmoil coming down to join them. Build on what we have and who knows

I've had a £40 bet with a piggy friend that we will finish 13th or above. Looking at the bottom 10 in the league I'm not really scared of them to be honest. I think we'll be very lucky to finish in the playoffs but you never know, the lord works in mysterious ways.

Id personally be happy with a 13th similar to what Barnsley have done this season, to lose two of their best players and not struggle is a very good season, think we need to be realistic for next season and as long as we avoid a scrap for relegation ill see that as moving forwards, that said we will surprise a few teams just need to keep the vultures at bay if the likes of Fleck, O'Connell etc continue to perform im sure they will attract bids.

Top 10 should be the target, then play offs the season after, and automatic the season after that assuming we haven't already gone up via the play offs.

I think 1st is a good finish. I'd be happy with anything other than relegation though.

In practice I think we'll consolidate in mid-table, most likely. Maybe around 10th.

22-24 = absolute failure
18-21 = primary objective achieved but a bit underwhelming.
14-17= decent season- steady progress.
10-13 = Good season.
7-9 = excellent effort to get close to the playoffs.
3-6= absolutely fantastic- Give Wilder the keys to the city.
1-2 = Wilder is god and goes down in the history books as one of our all time great managers.

Top ten will be a good finish and I think somewhere around mid-table will be achievable with a few additional players.

Momentum and confidence is the key. If we can take the positivity into next season and we the fans stay 100% behind Wilder and the team, we could get off to a flyer and then anything is possible

Above relegation will do me. But if we can just pip the pigs to 6th place and then have Wilder complete his journey to full legend status by becoming the first manager to take us up through the playoffs, then obviously I'd fucking love a bit of that :)

Fuckin ell Michael browns coming back? Where you erd dis den

Do the double over the pigs and finish above them. Oh and don't finish in the relegation zone!

Investment is key. Why shouldn't Wilder,Knill and the players aim to go straight up. Not much point in getting to the Championship and not want to get higher. Plenty in the Prem have done it with much smaller crowds and backing.
Wilder has got a juggernaut moving. They can be hard to stop.
