But, the FA either go for high profile average English managers - Mclaren & Southgate, or top class foreign - Capello & Sven

Hes got no form managing, and benching the egos, how do you think Rashford and Pickford would react to 'Paul fuckin who?'

Finally, someone in the FA's job is on the line should it go wrong, imagine the autopsy when it goes wrong.....

Mclaren - well he was no2 to probably the best manager ever at Man U
Southgate - he did excellent with the u21's for 3 years and has 57 caps
Capello - hes won La Liga, Serie A, Champs League, Super cup......
Sven - hes won UEFA cup, Coppa Italia, Serie A

Hecky - well he got SUFC promoted from Championship, got sacked from Leeds after 4 months and lasted 9 months at Hibs

Good post but events have overtaken you.

In the same vein as our experts writing off McAtee in August last year, I confidently predict the first 'Hecky out' post, today.

'Gone by November' was one of my favourite harvests from Pommpey's early takes last season (I think from the first match v Watford, and yes, there were caveats).

Given how easy it is to lose a job as a football manager and how easy it is to maintain a presence on S24SU, even spouting utter garbage, there's a certain irony that Heckingbottom has outlasted Pomps (granted that Pomps had maintained tenure since at least the days of SUISA).
