Pay up Higdons contract and get rid. Let James Wallace go i feel sorry for him but he's too much of liability. Get shut of Baxter if he was any good he wouldn't be playing for us.

Tbh hippo did a job tonight winning three head downs into the box. Shame nobody was anywhere near them

Add McEveley and it'll only cost us one taxi fare to Liverpool.

Ambitious sides get players in and improve the squad. We faff about ever year and make different excuses; all the while selling one good player ever year.

Quinn, Blackman, Maguire, Murphy....list goes on and we wonder why we don't go up.

I think I heard that it means we no longer need to sell our best players.

I assume this means we're now just doing it for a laugh.

No, its because player A B or fucking C asked to go & we cant stop them. Or so it seems.

Were so soft its unreal & it comes from the top down.

Hopefully tonight will do us a favour like the Gillingham game ,he realised Macfadzean and Long weren't good enough ,and now he will surely see that Baxter and Basham aren't. Get Basham back to centre back and buy 2 decent midfielders if Wallace isn't fit.

Didn't see Collins do a lot wrong tonight to accommodate Basham back at CH. That leaves us a few days to loan two central midfielders and assimilate them into the squad. No mean feat.

Sacking our manager and starting from scratch whenever we fail in the play offs doesn't help, and can't be cheap. Wonder if Adkins will be given a second full season if we don't go up in his first? On past form, probably not.

He won't make Xmas if he carries on at a 50% loss rate.

True champions continue to invest and improve their squad even when 'things are going well.' The whole recruitment side of the club is so amateur, probably because there isn't a single person with a football background in the boardroom.

^^^^
This!

Add MacDonald to that list too

Other than Mal Brannigan?

How many games he played then? Whereas Bury who were here on Satuday have had Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt operating as unpaid advisors to their board for the last nine months.. they looked like they had put together a more cohesive squad than us on probably a tenth of the budget.

The point you agreed with was that no one on the board had a football background. Which was wrong. It didnt say no one had played the game.

Flitcrofts a lucky man to have that sort of back up although it's amazing they have the time what with other commitments and Salford City etc.

The late Neville Neville had them involved.

The first 30 mins last night truly was one of the worst periods of play that I have ever seen at Bramall Lane. I know that comments like that are banded around a lot but I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

It must be fantastic to be a League One manager and to look at the fixture list to see that you are playing us. We are so predictable than even the most basic knowledge of football tactics can nullify any of our threats and cause huge issues for our defence.

I lost count of the number of times that Collins received the ball from Howard to then make a sideways pass to McEverly who would receive the ball on his right foot, realise that he can't use it, run around in a circle with the ball forever getting closer to the touch line and then hoof it diagonally towards the edge of their box only to concede possession (again). Alternatively the ball makes it way sideways to Freeman who immediately launches in straight down the line in a floaty manner whilst one of our pedestrian strikers tries to run own behind their defence only for the ball to run out for a goal kick. Combine this with Baxter continuously passing the ball sideways offering absolutely zero penetration (ball usually ending back with McEverly or Freeman for more of the above). Also incredibly frustrating is that every time we actually manage to make it down the wing it is inevitably at the feet of the 'tricky' Cambell Rice who literally never puts in the initial cross when he has the time and space but instead decides to fake three of four times before sending across a daisy cutter into the keepers hands or floating one out for a goal kick.

We have absolutely nothing unpredictable in our side when Che isn't playing and that is a lot of responsibility for such a young and inexperienced player to burden.

Adkins has got a right job on his hands.

The club is top to bottom filled with utter morons that have not a clue what they're doing, where they are or even how to tie their own shoelaces.

Where do we go from here?
Fuck knows

We have too many journeyman players sitting on wages which will far exceed most players in this league.

Taking last night as an example, we had:

Collins
McEveley
JCR
Woolford
Sharp
Sammon
Higdon

All played for umpteen clubs in their time, all will no doubt be earning far more than the likes of Moncur & Massey who were running rings around us last night. No wonder they have more motivation than our set, they want to prove something when they play against the set of journeymen cloggers we have.

When we first went down to this league I thought this would be our chance to reinvent ourselves, the chance to ditch the long ball tag we had, the chance to get rid of the high earners, the chance to bring in young, hungry and up and coming lower league players and build a pacy, youthful side we could take up the leagues. Instead we've bumbled around for 4 seasons, making largely underwhelming signings, swapping managers year on year and still bringing in journeymen on big contracts they wouldn't get offered anywhere else.

There's no wonder we are in such a mess. I'd say that 6 of our starting XI from last night have their best days behind them. They aren't going to be anything like as hungry for success as Moncur, Massey, Eastman, Briggs, Vincent-Young, Edwards, Harriott and it showed last night.

I'm sure Manger Nigel Adkins will be pretty Cross with that display - in fact it might be the final Straw. I'm sure he'll make us Stable, but what chance has he got with those Donkeys?

Jesus Christ.

Let's hope he's a wise man and can resurrect us.
