The blades had a bad game?

when 4 or 5 weren’t at it, someone didn’t put a shift in, neshed challenges, didn’t chase a lost cause?

Has it happened under Wilder?

My memory is littered with late tired challenges (McCeverley), poor players, no system, lack of fight but this current crop are nothing of the sort.

Answers on a postcard!

Any time the first choice team doesn’t start. I.e. cup games. Apart from that yeah Hull in 17/18. Made up for it big style at Hull in 18/19 though!

I didn't go to that Hull game, but the last one I remember at Bramall Lane was the 2-0 defeat to Fleetwood in our promotion season from League 1. Wilder gave McNulty one last chance by starting him in that game and he was crap. Last time we lost that season.

I remember Warnock saying he'd always forgive a player for a poor game on the ball but not for a poor game off the ball. I can definitely think of some of the former where things haven't worked out for us, but in terms of players not putting in challenges and working hard, no, that doesn't really happen for us (in the League at least).

Just look at some of the defending in the last few Villa games and see what it looks like when players aren't doing the basics.

When I read the title I thought you were asking when some scruffy twats had last changed their lucky undercrakers?

Nearly a year now, go get em pealed off your smelly twats.

First half v Boro away last season was pretty bad, so bad that the second half improved performance was irrelevant. I'd also argue we wernt very good at toy town last season. But neither of these performances were down to lack of effort, just an off day.

That game was the reserve team.

Under Wilder we average 1 bad game a season....it’s quite incredible really.
I remember watching us in the 80’s and it wasn‘t usual for us to win 5-0 one week,....then lose 0-5 the week after.
Thats what made us a good watch....you had no idea which Sheff Utd would turn up.

This team must be the most consistent in our entire history.
Our biggest defeat in our last 65 matches (18 months) is still only 2-0.

The last time we were poor and lacked effort was away at Hull, not last year but the year before.

I can honestly say we were rubbish at Watford. Wasn’t a lack of effort, but we just didn’t play very well.

We were rubbish against Bristol city at home last year as well and somehow only lost 3-2.

That’s genuinely about it.

Agree rubbish v Watford based on chances created
but I think Watford’s tactics took us by surprise....they showed us massive respect by adopting away team tactics as though they were playing Real Madrid.
We dominated the match but didn’t look like scoring. They rarely attacked but always looked dangerous creating the best chances.

The Bristol C home match was a strange game....we seemed nervous....also to be fair Bristol City looked a really good side in the last 20 minutes.

Got absolutely battered at home to Brentford. But still won 2-0. With 10 men. Funny old game.
