Not including Paddy obviously.

Mine would be:

------------------Bennet

Walker-------Morgs----Killa-------Naysmith

-------------------Monty

-------------Harper-----Williamson

Ward-----------------------------Cotts/Treacy

----------------Evans/Cresswell

We saw how effective this formation can be in Preston Play off semis*. The key is movement up top. Craig Beattie, for all his flaws, had great movement and pulled the Center Backs all over the place, made space for the wingers and Center Mids and proved you dont need a big man up top for this formation to work.

*Formation doesnt work if players freeze at national stadium.

I was quite impressed with Beattie (finishing apart) up until the play-off final, although he wasn't the only one to have a stinker that day. He seems to be doing pretty well at Swansea, and as you say his movement is impressive.

I'd much prefer players in their preferred positions, which for me means Ward up front and either Cotterill or Little on the right. I'd just worry with those three in the middle we wouldn't have anyone making attacking runs to support a lone front man.

Not saying I agree or disagree with your team but out of your preferred 11, we were missing just 4 of them last night. Is missing 4 of 11 players, with perfectly adequate players to come in, an excuse for such a poor performance last night?

Sorry to go off topic but can't believe the hype and spin re. injuries.

Well he clearly does not have much faith in what he has in reserve.

New keeper

Walker
Morgs
Killa or replacement (NOT Davies)
Naysmith

Ward
Harper
Williamson
New player

Hendo
Ched

Manager: Coppell (who would change 3 or 4 of the above sharpish)

Bennett
Geary Morgan Morgan Geary
Monty Monty Monty
Ward Ward Ward

Manager - M.A.D. Scientist.

Attack of the Clones.
A Geary on each wing, rampaging forwards along with three Wards to put the shits up the opposition defenders. Three Montys - one playmaker, one libero and one horse-faced charmer from Leeds. Two Morgans in defence - ample even against the likes of Barcelona. Messi? Two Morgans would shit him and his ilk. Bennett can toss it off with the Take A Break crossword, as with two Morgans and two Gearys he'll not have to do anything.

And I've not had a drink in days.:D

5 stars for imagination :)

Mine would be..

Benno

Walker Morgan Killa Geary

Reid Harper Williamson Treacy/Cotterill

Evans Ward

sorry monty... 442 all the way

Think mine would have to be...

Benno, but given the chance, Paddy
Geary Morgs Killa Naysmith
Cotteril Monty Little Treacy
Ward
Henderson

I'd play little in the middle purely because we have nobody else in that role (unless williamson can prove himself) and he's got an experienced head to maybe control the play a bit and spray a few passes about.

When everyone's fit, it's worth keeping Walker, Morgan, Naysmith, Ward, Monty, Henderson and maybe Harper.
The rest we would probably be best moving on, fit or not.

If everybody was fit AND on their best form, I would go for:-
Bennett
Geary Morgan Kilgallon Naysmith
Ward Harper Williamson Treacey
Henderson Camara
Subs:- Bunn, Walker, Davies, Montgomery, Cotterill, Little, Evans

Bennett
Walker, Morgan, Killa, Naysmith
Cotts, Montgomery, Treacy
-------- Evans ---------
-----Ward, Henderson----

Monty sat in front of the back 4.

Evans has a thunderbolt on him and can run at players.

Big man, little man combo up top.

Far too attacking for reality but I'd like to see it if we're sat safe in the middle of the league with 5 games remaining and an outside chance of a play-off back door.

Most of you are picking Williamson yet the guy hasn't turned out for us yet!
Realistically:

Bennett

Walker
Morgan
New Player (Sell Killa) Davies, Fortune not good enough
Naysmith

Cotterill
Montgomery / Harper
New Player / Williamson if he proves himself
Treacey

Evans
Ward

Subs:
Henderson
New Young Goalkeeper
Geary
NEW young Centre back
Harper / Monty
New Midfield Player / Williamson
New Striker

Sell: France, Stewart, Taylor, Sharp, Killgallon, Little, Reid
Send Back Davies, Bunn, Cresswell

Benno or new keeper

Walker Morgan Davies Naysmith

Reid Harper Williamson Treacy

Evans Ward

Subs
Geary
New Keeper
New right back and left back
New centre back (jason shackall ideally)
Monty
New Midfielder
New Striker x 2

Get rid of Stewart, Bunn, Killa, France, Taylor, Quinn, Henderson, Cresswell, Sharp

I'm amazed that I'm the only one who has picked Camara. "When everybody's fit" surely he's miles ahead of the rest of our strikers in terms of experience, pedigree and past achievements? 39 goals in 100 British League starts. 9 goals in 39 FULL Internationals. I think he could be a valuable asset if he can get anywhere near his best.

I forgot about him.

Still wouldn't be in my starting 11 though.

Interesting that most are choosing to bin off Henderson - especially those who are keeping Evans.

I think having Henderson there encourages a certain style of play that I would rather see us avoid. I would like to see us develop a style that suits Evans (if indeed such a style exists!) rather than persist with one that doesn't.

Wide men creating things by beating a man and crossing a ball and midfielders who can spot and thread a pass to forwards breaking through. Oh to dream . . . .

GK. Bennet
RB. Geary
LB. Naysmith
CB. Killgallon
CB. Morgan
RM. Little
LM. Treacy
CM. Harper
CM. Tonge!
CF. Ward
CF. Camara

If we were to change the style of football, get Billy back!

there is a fascinating fact comes out if you study these posts.. NOT ONE PERSON has quinn in their team.. coincidence?

Based on the current squad I would go with.............

----------- Bennet -----------
Walker - Morgs - Killa - Naysmith
Ward - Little - Harper - Treacy
- Evans - Creswell or Camara -

Idea is wingers getting foward lots with plenty of crosses.

Think that Little would do a good job in front of the defence directing the play, but him and Harper can easily swap if one of them makes a forward movement.

With the strikers I think you have options of a different styles of play. Creswell for the away games to do a bit of holding up the ball and Camara for the pace when we go for all out attack (as we should nealry always do at home).

Only thing to consider is replacing Killa when he leaves in Jan and if we don't keep Treacy I thought Stweart did a good job (on the left) the other week.

What you think??

Just in quick response to you mentioning Stewart, just seen him in for fitness training - no-one else here.

Would Camara be in your starting 11 now? Personally, I thought he did enough to suggest he should start every game, even when only half fit!

With our current playing staff and no wingers I'd go 4-3-3

Paddy/Benno

Walker Morgan Killa Naysmith

Monty
Williamson Harper

Evans Hendo Ward

It's not really posted it as I laid it out 4-1-2-3 really or 4-3-3 with Monty holding.
Use our fullbacks to push on allowing Walker to play what seems to be his more natural game while having a holding player covering if one full back pushes on and gets caught out of position. Naysmith also is no slouch at getting forward on the left either.
The forwards should be looking to move from outside inwards using the fullbacks on the overlap for our width. The two central midfielders are also given licience to push wider if that is where the space is looking for threaded balls through to Ward/Ched. If we do go longer then Ward/Ched need to look for the flicks from Hendo so play tighter to him.

GK Benno
RB Walker
CD Morgan
CD New signing
LB Naysmith
CM Harper
CM Monty
CM Williamson
RM/ST Ward
ST Hendo
ST Camera

Subs
Evans
Little
Bunn
Quinn
Fortune
Treacy
Cresswell

I've missed killa out because I am sure its a done deal he will go, cotts is gone and evans just isn't doing it for me, he might impact off the bench. Cresswell needs to break into the squad. My team is more of an attacking 4-3-3 that can revert to 4-4-2.
