Well, 2 days to go now everybody.

Personally I'm:

  • Excited: can't wait for the football to start again! I can catch up with all the people who sit around me, see what they've been up to over the summer.
  • Apprehensive: have they managed to put my seat back yet? As a South Stand Blade, my lovely wooden seat is being ripped out to be replaced with a plastic one. As of last Saturday, they still hadn't replaced my seat. Will I be standing up? :)
  • Optimistic: This year we could really do it, despite what some negative people seem to think. We have a good squad of players and are monetarily (if that's a word) sound. BDTBL is looking more and more like a place we want to be.

So, as we get rapidly nearer the Leicester match, how do you all feel? :)

like you said i really think we can do it this season have a good squad hopefully we'll stay off the injuries :P.

As it's Pre-season and everyone is digging out old threads, I thought I'd resurrect this one. Especially as it's nearly 9 years old and still quite apt (apart from the wooden seats bit (I liked them BTW)). Oh, and the Leicester bit!

Anyway, I'm with you on this one Linz. I'm feeling quite positive too. Looking forward to a nice shiny new kit too!

Maybe I should have put that last bit in a different thread!

Sorry :tumbleweed:

Quite excited about the new season but i really would like to be at the first home game but i doubt if i will

There is something really special about that first glimpse of your team in the new kit on a summers day even last season was a hood un

Quite excited, but it really depends on what happens with the striker (s) we bring in. Plenty of time, but it would be nice to bag one.

Just bending over now in anticipation of the inevitable....

Isn't this thread just a re-worded version of what I posted a couple of weeks ago?

Not wanting to put a dampener on things, but if I remember correctly everyone was very optimistic at the start of last season and convinced Weir was the New Messiah.....

On the fence about this season so far. Nothing happened thus far to make me think we're dead cert for top 2. If Nigel can carry on from where he left off then we have a chance of top 6 but not getting any more optimistic than that

Feel as optimistic as I do about a labour government in 2015. Really should succeed, very well placed, but the useless tosser up front is becoming a real concern.

Of course I have an optimistic view. That's why I bought another season ticket. I don't want to miss a match of our promotion winning season (fingers crossed)

As ever, at this stage, optomistic. Really feel positive and can't wait.

That reminds me of something Danny Baker said on his football radio show a few years ago. At 2.59 on the first day of the season, every football fan is optimistic. By 5pm the same day, 50% of them are all doom and gloom.

OK, that ignores draws and staggered kick off times, but the gist is correct.

Massively excited and optimistic. After our upturn in fortunes last year and been able to get a season ticket this year. I can't wait. Bring on the 9th

Really? That must have passed me by. I fail to see how anybody thought Weir was 'the New Messiah' based on a managerial career of precisely zero games.

As we now know, he was the worst manager we've ever had.

Nigel, on the other hand, has overseen 33 League matches - seeing us from near-certain relegation to a very respectable 7th. Plus the best Cup run in decades. Hence the optimism. :)

I believe someone did a poll and a clear majority thought we woulkd get automatic promotion. I am sure someone can find it.

I wasn't and was predicting a relegation dog fight and that is just how it turned out until Clough changed things round.
The second half of the season was great so I don't see any reason why it can't continue of course a new striker or two would be even better.

that's true mate.. but the manager for this coming season seems to have a rather good track record already
