So with the two new Youngsters on loan till the summer, Whats your back four?

A few seem worried that we don't have the experience, but I think it could be a master stroke by Micky.

The key for me is Organisation and discipline. Keep their heads, keep their shape, nowt silly, no daft passes. We could have a very decent back four

First Choice:- Kozluk Bartley Lowry Jordan
Subs:- Lowton and Parrino
Squad:- Conneely
Sold or released:- Calve, Nosworthy, Ertl
Long-term Injured:- France, Morgan, Taylor
Steward on the Away end:- Mattock

Lowton, Bartley, Lowry, Mattock

I like the look of Parrino, but I don't know what his communication skills are like. Anyone know?

We still need an experienced centre half to lead the pack. Bartley and Lowry doesnt fill me with confidence. I can see them both just looking at each other gone out wen were in the shit. Plus who says adam isnt to put Nos straight in when hes fit again.

Ok, so whats your back four then?

I'm too am going for:

Lowton Bartley Lowry Mattock

Parrino looks decent but was caught napping a bit v Donny.
I've been impressed by Kozzy since he came back in, but I'd like to see the above young back four to see how they get on.

I would have thought he will put Noz in a right back when he is fit

Way too inexperienced for me swiss. I really hope Adams gets a decent experienced defender in, Probably someone who's career is winding down a bit, and can pass on the experience and knowledge.

I really don't like the fact that we could be fielding an entirely loaned back line. We need our players to be getting the experience of playing togther.

I like the sound of that. However I share others concerns about inexperience. There is a good chance Bartley and Lowry could be bullied by a big, strong centre forward.

Killa is experienced, Noz is Experienced, Claude is Experienced. Experience isn't everything.

This season, Bartley, our most inexperienced defender has consistently outperformed those around him in the back four.

And lets not forget, Jags, Kyle and Kyle all lacked experience and became crowd favourites and consistent performers as anyone else.

For me, Bartley is growing and alongside a less eratic centre half than Noz he could get even better.

Its time for Morgs to pass on his experience to the centre halves in the coaching role - He did it with Jags, Killa, Cahill and more recently Bartley. I don't think its a coincidence that these players have done well alongside Morgs.

Now we need one of the young lads to step into his boots, Bartley is the man to lead the back four.

Why the negativity? what is wrong with having a young defence or a young team? we've suffered for years of having 'experienced' players. even in this squad.... noworthy is 'experienced', but who would you rather have, him or bartley? guys, young lads want to play and fight for a place. they want a career out of football and it can be assured that they will give their all in every match. I say its absolutely a positive thing that we could have a young defence, get them in!

Great minds an all that eh Blader!

I'm all for bringing youth into the team, but would prefer one experienced head in there to marshall the back 4.

The problem is he'll be passing that experience on to players that aren't ours, and it will all be for nothing come the end of the season when they go back to their parent clubs

And? We just shouldn't bother then?

From where I'm sat, those clubs will then be grateful that their players have gathered experienced from a no nonsense centre half to add to their technical ability. The key is now, not the end of the season, the players are with us for 5 months so lets do what we can with them to make them into decent centre halves.

The alternative is Nosworthy and he's also gone at the end of the season

No not at all, we should be getting in two permanent centre backs. At the moment we've just spunked half a seasons wages on two players, that probably won't be playing for us next season.

I hope we do make some more defensive signings toward the end of the transfer window, but at the moment we just seem to be chucking money away.

I don't see it that way.

It could be a case of getting potentially better players in, with lower risk long term.

I hope at the end of the season we get some permanent signings, but for now, if we're setting our stall out, i'd rather that loanees or permanent, we get in talented youngsters who are keen to learn off the likes of morgs.

I agree with:

Lowton-Bartley-Lowry-Mattock.

I think that although young, they will do a job and inexperience won't be too much of an issue. I'd like to see:

Conneely-Barltey-Lowton-Mattock.

I think that in the long run, this would be a great way to use 'our' players, leaving us in the summer to look for a permanent CB to replace Morgan. I'd like to see how Conneely fares, and as he is now our player could be worth giving a go. Lowton can play CB, not sure which would be his best position in the future between RB and CB.

Are we getting the young Norweigan lads? One of those is a LB isn't he? A new LB and CB as permanent signings in the summer to come into the back four so that it may look like:

Conneely-New Player-Lowton-Tønne?

My thoughts are mainly long term as I think the first combination that I agreed with from previous posts is enough to do the job for the rest of the season.

Lowton at CB is a big no for me. I don't think he's good enough aerially.

I'd like to see him given a chance, he's a fairly big lad (from memory). Given the right guidance he could become adept eventually? I wouldn't play him at CB right now for the same reason you bring up and he may be a little too inexperienced but in time I'd like to think he could become a CB.

No he won't! He's not big enough, not strong enough and not good enough in the air. I imagine he's fully-grown now and he's under 6 foot tall. Centre-Half is a big man's position in modern football. Imagine him against the likes of Iwelumo? Be realistic.

First Choice and Kozluk in the same sentence :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Bartley may be young, but we saw at the hull game, when it all kicked off, he's not going to back down from anything

What's my back 4? It's for keeping my posture correct.

I'm here all week! ;)

Calve - loan
Nossy - loan
Bartley - loan
Parrino - loan
Mattock - loan
Lowry - loan
Jordan - given a 12 month contract (I'll class that as a loan if you all don't mind)
Kozzy contracted (hoorah!)
Lowton contracted (hoorah)

My back 4 would probably be.............................................................er.................................................4 loan signings..........................I think!

Lowton/Conneely competing for RB, as those are out two contracted players the summer would be spent searching for another 3 defenders, unless as mentioned earlier, we get the Norwegian lads.

Jordan will be released at the end of the season I assume, how long is Taylor contracted for?

My back 4 is Naughton-Morgan-Kilgallon-Naysmith

But the global recession, La Nina or the Icelandic volcano has put paid to that, so I'll go with:

Lowton-inexperienced loanee-inexperienced loanee-inexperienced loanee.

If that is the sum total of our defensive signings for the window, hello League One.
