The TOON TOON made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Awesome
My abiding memory of that game was when the chant 'STAND UP IF YOU HATE SHEARER' started up and the wave of fans that stood up to join in (this was after another dive by the twat followed by him reffing the game
I remember watching the Sunderland v Norwich FA Cup semi final at S6 in 1992 (I was with my Norwich mate in the Leppings Lane Upper Tier), when John Byrne scored the goal I could feel a lot of noise from the Sunderland fans (they had the Kop End and the South Stand) from the vibrations on my seat and it did look like that the Kop Roof would collapse at any time due to the noise. It looked impressive
I watched the Wendy v Birmingham game a month later (I was at the Wolves v Blades game in the previous night). There were a lot of Birmingham fans there. They won 2-1 and needed to beat Orient a few days later to clinch promotion and they did by winning 1-0 to overtake Millwall who had completed their seasonIt's an old story that Bert has told before but.....The loudest supporters Bert has ever heard was when Birmingham City played Leeds, early 70's, FA Cup Semi Final, Sheffield 6. Leeds were the best team in the land and Birmingham were second division.
The Leeds fans were making all the noise prior to kick off from the Kop {where Bert was positioned} and the South Stand.
There was the usual pre match entertainment, it was either The Dagenham Girl Pipers or The Police Dog Display Team...{Bert's memory has failed to inform Bert which it was).
The Brummies were strangely subdued.....until five minutes before kick off...25,000 of them suddenly rose up as one and sang "Keep Right On To The End Of The Road". The roof of the North Stand was almost lifted off.
If you'd have been there Silent you would have heard every word. Bert thought that they couldn't possible lose with support like that....... Leeds stuffed them.

Something in the back of my mind is telling me that Swansea were very loud when they embarrassed us 0-3 at the Lane in the FA Cup.
