I am sure Collins did play for United before that, in a Win at Hillsboro'

Was on loan from Sunlan ?

The one that surprises me is Shane Lowry, he looked like a quality player during his brief time at Bramall Lane.

Oh yes we where, not surprisingly we were relegated without much of a fight.

Correct. The 2-1 win at Hillsborough in 2006 I think. The one when Tongey and Akinbiyi scored and we really should have won by far more, but for Bruce Dyer's questionable finishing.

And with that Adams managed a win rate of 16.67%.

Mind you, we weren't to know that the club was to appoint David Weir a couple of years later and he absolutely thrashed that record.

Jesus fucking wept.

He had a poor game in the 3-2 home defeat against QPR the following week. We didnt keep him for much longer! It was a surprise when we signed him again 5 years later

It'll be interesting to see where the current crop are in five years time - and if they can match the achievements of Collins's teammates in Roygbiv's great new thread

  • now playing his trade as back up keeper for Pune City who sit 7th in the Indian Super League
  • He is currently playing his trade in the Chilian second division with Coquimbo Unido.
  • He only made two starts at St Andrews however and now plays his football in his birth place of Perth, for Perth Glory
  • Now in his 4th season with Australian club Central Coast Mariners
  • charged with affray when he challenged police with a meat cleaver. He was also charged with possession of a Class A drug. His sentencing is to take place in February of this year
  • He is currently back in his home country of Malta playing for Xewkija Tigers and is currently head coach at Xewkija Tigers Football Nursery.

Hmmm. Wrong thread.

anyone else notice the fact monty spent 12 years with us and had pretty much the smallest write up :D

If anyone ever has doubts about our transfer policy, these will just reaffirm them. We are the last post of a footballer's career.

I think there are a few observations that arise from this (excellent) article.

Firstly, what a goddam awful 11, little wonder we were relegated.

Secondly, given this was only 3 years after the Prem it just shows the poor decision making process the club & those responsible for its stewardship had made - parachute payments completely blown on worthless / talentless amateurs.

Managerial appointments, Robson, Blackwell, Speed, Calver, Adams all of whom added very little by way of lasting legacy or advancement of the squad.

Those on here who offer sympathy towards those running the club during this period should think long & hard and consider the mess we now find ourselves in.

Jesus christ i had forgotten how bad that team actually was. I think even this shower of shit we have got now would beat them

Apart from 'The Beard' I doubt that any Blade aged 5-15 years old has a hero.

That's some achievement with £45M to spend McC.

And yet Nosworthy is still plying (or playing if you're WHF ;)) his trade for Dagenham & Redbridge. Unbelievable.

One of the worst pro footballers I've ever seen in the 38 years I've been going to games. Redeemed only by the fact that his name was so easily edited to "Notworthy", and his head was shaped like a 50p piece.

It's 'Carver'. The Derbyshire village would have done a better job.
