With Britton closing in on the England squad (or would it be Welsh squad?), Killgallon doing well again at Sunderland etc, what kind of team might we have had? Include loan players Cahill anyone?

Kenny, Walker, Naughton, Cahill, Killgallon, Britton, Jagielka........

I thought that every player that ever played for us was shite for us, but a major success wherever they went

Not true swiss currie, edwards, deane all excelled for us and flopped when they left us there are many others but cant be bothered with it just now but there are plenty that did shit for us then bacme stars too so i guess it works out.
add to that players that were mediocre for us after big hype etc then left and virtually disapeared Howard for one sure theres more.

bit defensive

Interesting, and something I thought about at the start of the season when I put my Fantasy team together.

Kenny
Walker
Cahill
Jags
Naughton
Britton
Halford
Brown
Dyer - not Brucie
Phillips
Sharp

Bench: Bunn, Killgallon, Tonge, Henderson, Clarke

It's not easy to make a team so I've gone 4-5-1 as it's all a bit non-creative.

In the case of Deane, I hardly think being a PL regular for Leeds and Boro for about 7-8 seasons after (twice) leaving us plus a spell at Benfica constitutes being a flop.

And Currie? Are you serious? A top division player at Leeds for 3 seasons and 10 England caps from 76-79? Mmmm.

darren, in deanes case was he ever as prolific anywhere else?
and as for TC 10 caps were because he was a member of leeds, he played much better for blades and never got a real chance, so yes id say both didnt live up to their form for the Blades, maybe flop was harsh saying that i think 10 caps in 3 years isnt a very prolific member of the England set up rather like the 8 caps matt le tissier got for england, probably the best goal scoring and technical midfielder of his time but if england caps are owt to reliably tell the story of how good a player was then le tiss and currie were crap but we both know thats utter bollox.
as i said a flop was harsh but didnt really live up to previous expectations going into allegedly superior teams.

Leeds stuck Deano on the left wing for a lot of the time I think. I believe he won a supporters player of the year award too while he was there.

I have only watched United for the last 15 years, but iv never seen anyone as good as Michael Brown and i figure it might be a while until i do.

u never know, Jordan Slew might go on to play for England....
Nick Montgomery might be Frank Lampard's replacement...
and i saw Danny Wilson scored a good goal on some archive footage last wknd. Everton do need a striker.
