What was the point in signing Soumare

Did well today. A good athlete and a good tackler. He's had to be patient and wait for other things not to work out and players getting and staying injured. I think he should have played more. Will be interesting to see if he keeps his place in the team on Tuesday.

He seemed to hide a bit first half, but then got much better. Similar performance to Oxford.
Probably needs to start a few games now

Yeah he still seems to be getting used to the English game. Still gets stuck in and reads the game well.

He's raw, but when our biggest problem has been our weak midfield, it's been frustrating to see Soumare, with his attributes, being ignored.

Just beginning to find his feet in a very tough and intense league. I think there’s a lot more to come from him, we saw a few bits of excellence today. He now needs to build on that.

Aye, he's the closest player we have currently to Souza. Especially with regards to athleticism.

Adds a bit of physical presence that we lack otherwise and made a few decent blocks and interceptions.

Wouldn't be against seeing him start more regularly because he's got more about him than Matos who must be way down the pecking order when Blaster gets back and Davies is remotely fit.

I’m already seeing a big improvement in just a few games. He has that long graceful glide across the grass when in full flight with the ball. Plenty of improvement needed but I think plenty will come

After Souza's atrocious first season where he spent most of his time acting like a music conductor, I pinpointed the moment he "got it" with a tackle he made at Preston on the opening day last season. He made a huge block and then Robbo made another one to stop a PNE equaliser at 1-0. The Blades behind the goal roared at it like a goal and Vini looked at us in awe. It was almost like he realised what being a Blade is about in that five second period.

Although not as high profile today, I felt Soumare suddenly got it. He went flying into a tackle late first half - if O'Hare had been a little quicker to react and nick the ball of the Watford player, a 3-on-2 break was on - but it got a roar of approval from the Kop and John Street. He again looked at the fans with a bit of a look of realisation. I thought he did well today, looked like there's a player in there. He's a unit and needs to impose himself on the game more but there are natural tools there to work with.

Could be he lacks a bit of match fitness? Thought he was poor first half, but credit to him he grew into the second half and hopefully he gets physically stronger

Let’s no get carried away. He wasn’t great today but as you say “he was decent”.
Overall an acceptable performance, well done….lets hope he can build some confidence and use it as a springboard.

The 2 games he's started under Wilder are the 2 games we've won

Thought he missed a few challenges early doors but grew into the game and by the time he was subbed, felt he'd played pretty well.

Certainly someone I'd like to see more of.

Had a decent game yesterday, played a little more forward than Peck and got some good tackles/interceptions in.
Apart from trying to force a few passes, there wasnt much to criticise and alongside Peck, protected the defence fairly well.
With game time, we should see him become more comfortable and hopefully develop into the player that we see flashes of.

A bit loose at times with his passing but thought he was excellent yesterday and gave us something in the middle we clearly haven’t had this season. He started at Oxford and impressed and if memory serves hasn’t been involved since.
