The amount of effort and commitment they put in for 70 minutes, how gutting was it to find themselves behind (and for eight minutes Manchester United were world class). To get such a late goal shows the spirit within the side. Fantastic.
We bullied and harassed them for probably 60 mins and then sat back a bit too much which let them in (out of nowhere as well), but whilst it wasn't what we should've done, it was natural after the efforts which we put in for an hour. We are normally comfortable without the ball as it allows us to keep organised, but it does mean that we sit deeper and run a bit of a risk of conceding.
Despite us conceding 3 in 7 mins, i actually thought replacing Mousse with McBurnie or Robinson was the right thing to do, we've done it before and closed games out.
I'll get back to the spirit, but i think there were some other factors which also helped. I thought we were so up for it and Phil the calamaty Jones really helped that with a few big challenges that seemed to spring us into life. Mousse was absolutely on it bullying Maguire, the other lad and also Jones. Maguire will probably not get a much tougher, more physical game than that all season.
I think the energy and workrate in this side really contributes to the spirit, they know that we were cruising after we went 2-0 up and that came from all the effort. Man U couldn't live with us.
To concede 3 goals so quickly will hurt and I didn't think we'd come back from that. But i think the character and spirit to then raise ourselves and comeback again was the most pleasing thing, it probably sets this game apart from the Villa collapse, because we ended the game strong.
