I know what you mean, I don't wanna die before we are doing better.......... I actually keep thinking that!:confused:

It's the hope that kills you. My Dad had managed 69.8% by the time he lost the will to live (while watching Teletext of our 0-0 draw at Watford in 2005), he was 3 when we last won the FA Cup and it was all downhill after that apart from a minor blip in 1936. He didn't count the Watney Mann Cup final in 1972 :-)

I get the feeling that with the educational standards these days, the younger lot will struggle with percentages :)

From my first match...

19 years ÷ 125 years x 100 = a measly 15.2%
That must make you about 632 yrs old , owd up owd up no wonder I failed maths .

I find it easier to work out how many trophies we've won since I started watching the blades!
But for the record about 34-5% (1970)

A mere beginner. :)
Is there anything you would like me to tell you about the good old days?
like we had only 1 TV channel.
Sweets were rationed
Higher rate tax was 97.5p in the pound
We had an empire
Mushrooms and chicken were a delicacy.
It was a shilling to get into BDTBL.
All you got for Crimbo was an apple and an orange.
There were no Indians or Chinese Restaurants in Sheffield.
The Peacock on the Wicker was first Chinese I was aware of. It opened in the late 50's early 60's I think.
Owt else?

First game was the 0-2 defeat to dirty Leeds at the lane. My dad wouldn't take me as he didn't want me getting exposed to the hooligans. I actually went to the game with a pig fan mate from school. Had to google it for the date - 23rd Sept 1990. I remember it was Vinnie's home debut, I stood on the John St East and the chant of 'Gordon Strachan is a wanker, is a wanker". As I said, we lost the game but it fired up my passion for the club.

The game wasn't actually my first game at Bramall Lane. That was England U21s v Turkey U21's in around 1987, night match on the BLUT. I don't remember the game particularly, but I just remember walking up the steps and seeing the floodlights, the smell of bovril which my dad got me. There is something about night matches at the lane which takes me back to that night.

The google search pulled these up as well:

First win in Division 1 against Forest.

And the 4-0 defeat away to Leeds. Notice the fences, Tracey picking up a back pass, striker closing down his kick and Tracey not getting sent off for hauling the striker down!

The Zing Valley Chinese was open in the early 60s. Still open today. :)

Something around 20 - 24%, which based on most of the other posts makes me a young'un round here - a bit of a novelty. Not quite sure exactly when my first game was but if any of you lot saw me watching at Elm Part around the mid to late eighties you can help narrow it down a bit.

Witnessed about the same but I'm at 32%.

47 per cent - seems like a lifetime!!! Indeed a lifetime of misery but I had tears in my eyes when the old players paraded yesterday. We just belong don't we, come what may.

Only 2 FA Cup semi finals?

One erased from the memory bank due to excruciating pain?
