Is it me or are the grumblers going soft? No word of a protest/demonstration yet, wanting Weir out yet? Perhaps it's the good start, signing promising new, young players, not selling best players (yet)saying and doing the right things buying him a stay of execution/criticism.

Are you for him or against him? (Mica reply not required, thank you)

For me, he couldn't have made a better start. Keep it up Mr Weir!

I have no idea whether Weir will be a good manager. Neither does anyone else. It remains to be seen.

He's saying all the right things, he hasn't had his best players sold on (I know there's still time) and he has a certain pedigree. What's not to like?

That said, no-one knows anything until we get to the stuff that matters on Aug 2 and the pressure kicks in. That's what tends to sort the men from the boys.

...unlike the vast majority of managers - including most of our recent ones - who have records which include a fair degree of failure.

DW is a blank canvas, untainted by failure. Looking forward to this season because, like the summer weather, it's bloody time we had a good one.

Give em a chance , I know schools are on holidays but with this good weather there probably in paddling pool at Millhouses { 2nd tenor } don't tell me that's not there anymore as well . As soon as we lose at home don't play 4-4-2 , 4-5-1 , the man in the hole , the man up his hole , Flynn,Doyle , K-mac , Westlake , Williams , Hill , plays / dont play ,take your pick , if they sell Long which to be honest I would'nt mind as a loss , with another England keeper coming through the ranks , it'll hit the fan, I don't mind Mica's post , can be amusing at time's. Sometimes.

Weir is still a completely unknown quantity.

He could be gone by January.

Well, no he isn't! He's brought players in. He's given a clear and unequivocal indication of what he wants to do and how.

If he's gone by January, it will be upwards. Lets hope not.

He has never took charge of a professional football team in a competitive football match.

Doesn't matter who he has signed or what he has said, he is an unkown quantity.

It seems that he has more support than Danny had, there were protests etc before Danny even made it through the door.

Having already renewed my season ticket, it's nice to have a little optimism about.

He's still from north of the wall eh BF?
:o)

In all seriousness it sll looks looks quite positive - despite the skirt wearing........
