What is our plan to create chances?

I was wondering about this.

According to the PL stats, the big chances missed are as follows:

.Oliver McBurnieSheffield United

Scotland

2.Anel AhmedhodzicSheffield United

Bosnia & Herzegovina

2.Chris BashamSheffield United

McBurnie will be the Everton header, the Fulham header, the Man Utd shot, and one other. Any ideas anyone?

Anel, Thomas and Basham were all against Newcastle I think.

Traore was at Forest.

McBurnie's xg is 1.8. He's the biggest under performer. Hamer has 2 goals against 0.7 xg, the biggest over performer.

Could McBurnie have had two for that one incident against Everton? The initial header and the follow-up "effort".

Question for those who still have faith in the management team somehow. Looks like he’s keeping it for the weekend at least as our rudderless shit… sorry ship… continues to sail into obscurity.

Some genuine questions:
What do you believe our style of play to be?
How are we going to create chances moving forward?
What’s the plan for us to start competing at this level?
Do you think Hecky is completely blameless in all this?

Cos despite what anyone thinks of the Prince, and I think he’s a bit of a tosser these days, he’s built a side that can do better than 1 point from 30, and barely competing in games.
  1. We don't have one
  2. We aren't
  3. There isn't one
  4. No
None of which changes anything, if he was going to be sacked it would have happened by now.

The follow up effort will be, the header won't be. The initial header is only registering as 0.1 xG, the rebound at over 0.5 (which will be downgraded from how often the chance is scored in isolation, as in sensible xG systems he won't be given credit for the one in ten times he never takes the second shot in the first place where the header goes in)

In the championship you can get a lot of goals from opposition defensive mistakes but in the prem very few due to the gap in quality.
The gap in quality, this time around, is as stark as I've ever known it. This league is ruthless and it's full of massive athletes who can really play.

Slim Man Agree with this. We’re going down. But we’re no where near as bad as 2008 Derby.

We’re just devoid of an identity. We haven’t really had one under Hecky, other than Illy bailing us out and Berge having his 1 game out of 5z

Hamer needs to be the main man at home.

We haven't built a side around our best player now which is Hamer, and he's looking progressively worse with every game. He came in and scored in his debut, found the net at Spurs, since then he's barely had a sniff of a chance and has been barely involved.

Try to get players made out of girders rather than Weetabix. And having watched Villa trounce Luton (should have been at least 6 goals in it), and Liverpool spank Forest (again 6 goals better), (both those games were easily as one-sided as Blades vs Arsenal), and a dire pair of performances in the Bournemouth vs Burnley match, hope that we somehow get a point better than 3 of those 4 by May. 'Cos they are really shit as well.
Oh, and have faith in beer - the one true deliverance from footy despondency................

Could be because heckys tactical plan is damage limitation in every game. Not part of hamers game, and fucking boring to watch.

We don’t get the midfield involved enough because we constantly punt the ball up top. It’s not entirely heckys fault though… our squad is poor and we’ve had a ridiculous amount of injuries.

Imagine of instead of Brewster, Berge signings.
Wed have got Billing from Huddersfield and Doucoure from Watford as our midfield two.
Add Cash and Robinson as wingbacks and nipped in for Toney before he went to Brentford.

What are McCall & Lester doing? , midfield in disarray and strikers can't hit a barn door, no one questions them!
Get Billy in as forwards coach and Knilly in for McCall

What is our plan for defending?
What is our plan for the midfield?
What is our plan for set pieces?
What is our plan for retaining possession?
What is our plan for winning the ball back?
What is our plan A?

These are all equally as important questions to be answered as what is our plan to create chances?

The answer to all these questions at the moment is who knows, and it seems neither do Hecky and the players.

We need to make the opposition jump a bit when they get ball. Like at corners for example, just before delivery everyone in box collectively screams.

They already do this thinking about the impending counter attack

I'm glad I'm not just thinking of last season with Hecky out tinted glasses on.

The style of play and method of creating chances in 90% of games WAS 'give it to Ndiaye'. Rough.
I don’t think this should necessarily be a criticism. Giving the ball to your best player is probably a wise thing to do, and a hell of a lot of teams do it.
However, not having an idea what to do now he hasn’t got that type of player is something to criticize!

Give it to ndia ……….
