Blackwells constant bleating on about an injury crisis being partly responsible for the problems we are experiencing is really starting to piss me off. Lets look at the facts!

The first 6 games were;

won - 3
drawn - 3
lost - 0
for - 9
against - 4

The last 6 games were;

won - 0
drawn - 2
lost - 4
for - 9
against - 16

Now how many players involved in the first 6 games have been largely unavailable for the last 6 through injury?

As far as I can see it's the grand total of 2, Ward & Montgomery. Granted some have missed a game or two, (Killa, Treacy) but by and large the side we fielded yesterday was much the same, or at least just as capable as those playing at the start of the season.

So, for the love of God PLEASE stop using "injry crisis" as an excuse, because we haven't bloody got one!

I must admit, I've been thinking the same thing.

When you look at the team, the main problem has been the back 4 and that's nothing to do with injuries. That's to do with dis-organisation, a lack of harmony because of somebody who wants to leave, and poor performances as a result.

Drop Killa and bring in Davies or Fortune, and try and get the defence working as a unit again.

Totally and utterly agree. Many of the chief Blacwell apologists trot this one out when in reality we have Ward and Monty missing

His classic yesterday was 'it's tough when you're losing your experienced players.'

Can't class Ward as excperienced so I assume he's on about Monty. The man is a complete pillock

maybe so but a lot of the players in the side are carrying knocks or have had no pre season
who knows how much training they are able to do or how much treatment they need to play ,i bet half the side is operating at well below 100% match fitness

I'm sure you are right Judge but no professional outfit will ever have a situation where all their players are 100% fit - I just don't see it is any kind of excuse when the loan system is designed to cover for injuries.

Problem is he thought he'd fill his squad with loan players and no chance to do anything when the couple of injuries came.

All I ask is a bit of honesty from Blackwell. Occassionally he tries to admit ' we weren't at the races' or something like that but there's always an excuse, always a reason that has nowt to do with his recruitment or tactics and even though I enjoyed yesterday, I'm just sick if him and what he brings to the club - sod all.

we are now 12 games into the season and had an internation break (or is it 2 now) i dont think the lack of pre season should be an issue now. the players should be fit enough and of a high enough quality to be match fit after 12 games, with training, by now. And even if they do have knocks there is enough freeze spray and numbing injections around which can solve any little knock IMO.

he came across as pretty honest in his last interview ,didnt stop people crucifying him

Definition of injury crisis:

Everton.

Ward, Naysmith and Montgomerie is not an injury crisis.

It is a normal situation for any professional club to have one long term and a couple of 6-8 week injuries, plus a couple carrying knocks.

I aint counting Geary as it suits my argument!

we arn't a normal professional club with a normal squad though are we?

DEF:
An unstable or crucial time or state of affairs in which a decisive change is impending; especially : one with the distinct possibility of a highly undesirable outcome caused by personal injuries.

Players who have been out for matches in the past 4 weeks.

Morgan, Killa, Naysmith, Taylor, Monty, Williamson, Harper, Treacey, Ward, Cresswell, Evans,

You also have to take into account training. In addition to players missing, plenty of others have had knocks and will have been rested during the week. To me, the key part of KB's post match was when he talked about only having 9 fit players in training during the last international break. With all the influx of new players on top of this, it's hardly surprising that we're looking like a team of misfits at times.

Agree with your sentiments Torrix. Personally I think that we have been unlcuky with injuries BUT (and it's a very big one) the teams that KB has been putting out should be getting much, much better results. Injuries is not an excuse and he should not be using them as one. Every week I've looked at the starting XI and though this is a decent team or we should be getting a result. Yes we've had a few injuries, but KB has still had good players at his disposal. Despiute injuries I don't think we should be on this run of form. I am starting to side with others that under a different manager this group of players would be doing much better. I agree with Micaljo and others that Blackwell using injuries as an excuse is pathetic. He needs to hold his hands up and admit that we've just been poor. My patience has all but run out with him. I said at the start of the season that I thought we'd finish top 4 and I still believe we have the players to that. However with Blackwell in charge we are going downhill. He talks of automatic promtion (at the start of the season) then last week says the squad is not good enough. No Kevin you are not good enough! I've said before that I'm not one for rash decisions, but Blackwell has to go. He's taken us as far as he can. I am not a Blackwell knocker, I just merley think his time is up. I appreciate what he has done for us. He took over after Robson and turned things around. He deserved a chance and took us to within a hair's breath of promotion. However he is not the man to take us to the promise land. With hind sight he should have gone after the play off final defeat.

Most Blades are sensible enough to realise we have had a bit of bad luck in tersm of ward getting injured when in great form but it aint an injury crisis and he is just going round in circles. Which excuse will it be today? Lack of experience, no did that Friday, will have to be la ack of training together, oh no did that last week, will have to be injuries this time. That's what it looks like to me, no matter how daft I sound I find his every press comment pure and utter garbage. I accept it is difficult if asked a direct question by a semi-decent reporter but a clever manager would be saying ' we are working very hard to put things right, injuries happen to all clubs and we have to get on with it. we have a big squad here and some good players so let's give it a bit of time etc, etc.' I think more of us would give him a bit of leeway if he didn't set himself up so easily

Completely agree with your comment i also noticed he mentioned playing fringe players i'd like to see who they are because i can only think of france who is fringe, who has played lately the rest are geniune first team or a least challenging for a stop eg cotts and little wanting the same spot, cresswell and treacy etc. Can he also stop the childish comment on killa they are both being childish about this but he is the manage so he should sort it get him dropped and play davies or fortune look at davies record its not to bad at centre half for us.

Can you explain the difference between a fringe player and someone challenging for a 1st team place ?

Part of the point Blackwell (and Jim Chimmerney) was trying to get across is that we do obviously have a large number of injuries with some being 'walking wounded'.

Because of this it hasn't been possible to get any regular constructive input into important parts of training such as team shape, set peice work, organisation etc when so many are missing as they need to rest the injury either totally or between matches. The example Blacky gave was in the international break when he only had 9 players to work with.

Anyone who's been involved in coaching will tell you when you haven't got enough bodies - or the people for specific positions keeps changing for whatever reason - to put into practice the theoretical coaching work it becomes difficult to get cohesive sessions together. The result of this is that teams look disorganised as some people have not had the practice or are having to fill in for someone else.
