A totally different one to the one I've just frozen my nads off watching, it seems.
First fifteen, we were edging ever closer to a goal, whilst they defended strongly. Then we let them back in to the game and they looked the better side up to half time, thankfully with the poorest of goal attempts. First half we could rarely find a way of building from back to front because Peck was inexplicably anonymous and Choudray either unable or unwilling to pick out a forward pass. JRS and Seriki tried hard but didn't gel with each other too well. BBD and Burrows fared better but to little end.
They definitely had a rocket at HT because they came out with 100% more spirit. Sadly, fired up from scoring, we lose our only real goal threat 90 seconds later having got injured pretty much straight from the restart. Pinning our hopes on Moore and Brewster to extend the goal tally was optimistic to say the least but we tried. It was hard to see the incidents from the BL end of the JS Stand but I'll take everyone's word for it that we shouldn't have had a penalty. Their player feigning a kick to the head was equal shithousery to be fair to the ones slagging HB elsewhere. Several brave blocks gave the vibe that we'd hang on for a precious victory, so it was a punch in the guts to see them pop up with an equaliser in the 90th minute.

We drew at home to a good team battling to cement a place in the play offs. So did Burnley. In doing so, we went top of the division. I really can't fathom the extreme negativity, given where we are in the league. Tonight was frustrating and ultimately disappointing but as every week comes, the sky still hasn't fallen in. Even the doom mongers are changing their tune now, apparently next season will be worse than last season, according to some, so I think even they believe we will go up.

In our last six home games there has been ONE good performance (boro). We've looked poor in large spells of the other 5 games.

Even if we do go up, it will feel quite undeserved.

The Championship isn’t an easy division. It’s a hard slog. Despite this, we’ve found a way to average over 2 points per game.

In fact if we only got a point from the next two, and considering we have two chopped off, this would still be 2 points per game.

The expectation of this season seems to have gone off the charts at some point.

We’ve fought our way to first place after 37 matches. Surely that attracts some credit?

So the other 31 games (to date) don't count? Everyone was marvelling at Burnley's 'fantastic' run of 12 clean consecutive sheets, whilst over-looking the fact that 6 of them were 0-0's. We have jumped from injury crisis to injury crisis, and despite starting the season on -2, we're top of the league. I'd love us to win 4-0 every (other) week like Burnley, or Leeds' seemingly 'never know they're beaten' gloss but sod it. Enjoy it while it lasts because we've seen some awful, awful times at SUFC over the years.

It’s like people have never seen us draw before. Draw tonight. Beat the pigs. Perfect.

That's not the definition of perfection 😉

Baffling mate but there will be no convincing them. This forum has become an echo chamber of negativity and is probably representative of the fan base if the atmosphere at the Lane is anything to go by.

Spot on. Very good summary. 👍

I've seen what genuninely good times look like. They don't look like this.

I did wonder if the bloke walking up the steps at half time "utterly wank every week, we're terrible" endured most of our stint in league one, just as one fairly recent example of what it could be like to be terrible.

It's a testament to how good our season has been that even draws feel like losses

Either of the teams in the PL bottom 3 would have thrashed us tonight.
We're top of the league because we have a few quality players, not a quality manager.
Wilder is a tactical clown but the players just about keep him in a job.
