Overplaying at the edge of the box... Does my nut in....

We work it up the pitch quickly then fleck, Norwood, osborn amongst others pass it between themselves in triangles whilst the defence get back and get organised ready for a wank cross that is predictably bad and dealt with easily....

And we do it all game.... First time we didn't against Stoke, mousse is there and it's 1-1... Whip it fucking in whilst the defence are at 6s and 7s and getting back into position.. We lose possession so fucking what..

Millwall showed what can happen when you put a cross in early.

1. The ref’s performance tonight
2. The first 15 minutes of the game
3. Connor Hourihane
4. Playing a system with 1 striker when we have 7 in the squad (and no wingers)
5. Corners hitting the first man
6. Billy Sharp starting every game
7. The amount of money wasted on players over the last 2 seasons, 1 of whom can no longer make the bench
8. Robin Olsen
9. Our repeated inability to block shots from the edge of the area

10. Something else equally valid and infuriating…
#5 is a complete myth

Sometime the "shithousery" (if that's not a word it is now) is the best way especially in the Championship. We have been schooled in "old fashioned" football too many times already this season and its costing us

11. All the fans who come on this forum thinking that a) Dozy sicknote Berge is going to be our salvation at some time in the future (maybe 2027?). b) There are top clubs all over Europe who are queuing up to pay £50m for him to swell our coffers.
Tin hat on.....

10. The vocal minority of so called fans calling for Slav's head

The fact that for the third time this season we have not been able to see out a game , and conceeded a goal in extra time that's cost us points. That's 4 points thrown away , all of which could have been prevented.

Be fair its hardly throwing it away when we've been playing with 10 men for the last 40 minutes of the game

Aye
“We lose possession” and.. give Norwood pelters for a shit ball / not beating the first man🤔

Having seen it again I blame Mr Toothpaste man the Millwall player never touch him.

10. It's still people in China who eat bats for me. Two years ago today we beat Arsenal 1-0. Such good times, taken away so fast.

Yeah it was the bats and definitely not the Harvard professors being flown into Wuhan to study Coronaviruses

Probably a toss up between the banana republic government we’ve voted in, the lethargic global response to killing our own planet, or our complete inadequacy in midfield.

Not sure I could choose just one.

Our crap defensive is driving me crazy. We can let a goal in at any moment! No chance whatsoever of going up with a defence like that. To be fair that get little help from midfield either!

Fixed it for ya 😂
Absolutely.

I couldn't believe it beat Olsen on the night.

Having seen it back though I'm not sure what he could have done.

Positionally he was OK and it rocketed high over him.

Definitely number 7.

I can just about cope with the flutter on Mousset at 10m if he is available for a good portion of the season from here. He can be an asset. He might even help us make the end of season interesting if he stays fit.

The money we've got tied up in Berge, McBurnie and Brewster is the killer when we could have some seriously smart training facilities for the next 15 years on the back of that money. I'm really surprised that Wilder as a dyed in the wool Blade went so short term on some of these whilst totally expecting the infrastructure to take care of itself.

It's clear as a club we didn't want to buy Brewster. We wanted to loan him, see him do well, then sign him but Liverpool were insistent and Wilder dug in which meant we either backed a manager who was seen to do no wrong at that point or were seen as the villains for not supporting our greatest manager of recent times. Perhaps this was a result of a lack of internal harmony because if they'd been working together closely then they should always have had an eye on the longer term, i.e. better training set up and Cat A as a minimum.

It felt to me that both Ramsdale and Brewster deals were a show of strength by Wilder. But he could have used the Ramsdale money to replace JOC with Davies or Cooper and still had change for a decent loan keeper possibly using the oversees loan. He seemed to underestimate JOC's injury impact but the warning signs were there post lockdown. He also could have sorted midfield out better with Lundstram wanting away. Yet he invested heavily in the two other positions and still had another domestic loan available.

Mad really how badly he got it wrong and it could take years to recover.

In the end he was too proud. He should have just owned the relegation and been prepared to get the club to bounce back, like Farke did with Norwich. But he thought his stock was higher and that was a huge misjudgment as he's been out of the game ever since and no PL club wants near him. So what did he gain?

The one thing he may have gained is some rest and respite, he was starting to look frazzled towards the end of that disastrous season.

Relegation will have damaged his stock with some of the PL clubs that would have wanted him in the first place but EFL teams will be more forgiving and assess him on what he achieved which was a lot.

It makes sense for Chris to bide his time and wait for the right club and right opportunity to come back into the game slightly older and a lot wiser.

I’m angry that we (MGW) will be the stars of the next “Lets all laugh at diving” section on Football a.m. it’s not what Blades do young man. Send him back

I don't disagree but being a bit more accepting of the situation as it unravelled that club could still have been us. He could have regrouped and reflected in the summer without ceasing to be the manager.

My own preference would have been for him to stay. From his point of view he may have been done however.

This, we look so weak and disorganised at the back, prone to conceding or being hit on the counter at any point.

That's either tactics/system, coaching or both. Because individually Baldock, Egan, Davies, and Stevens plus Olsen aren't bad defenders.
