24/1/98 - no that was the play off game the previous season. Chris Short got sent off for us
27/1/98 - no that was in the Wolves game on 17/1/98 - it was Derry and Cullen's debuts though
31/1/98 - yes.
3/2/98 - yes
7/2/98 - I think so
28/2/98 - yes

so 4 out of 6. Must try harder.

I'd lost track in my head of when that 2-2 draw with QPR was, so it's good to be reminded. I was living in Brackley at the time and got the train down to London from Banbury in order to have a meeting in Angel pre-match with the band I was about to become manager for, a meeting that ultimately led to me moving to London six months later, so a bit of a life-changer.

I don't remember too much about the game, but Ian Rush played for United and had a hand in one of the goals (about the only thing he did for us). I DO remember that for some reason I hadn't got a return ticket, but instead hitched back via the M1 and the A43 - I probably just fancied the adventure.

It was Rush's debut as it happens.

Darren - Raul is right about the Ipswich game. Short's sending off, like Whitehouse and Henry before him, was for taking Tarrico out. As I recall, Short more or less walked off without waiting for the card.

Yes, Short clattered Tarrico in the 1-1 draw as he seemed to be irritated with what he did to him a few seconds earlier
