to have a manager that the vast majority of us respect and support - keep it up Danny.

The things I like about ahr Danny so far:

1. Talks a lot of sense in interviews. Is understated, and at least until now has been unflappable.
2. He has a good eye for players. Brings them in and seems to get the best out of them. Prime example: Matt Phillips
3. Has appointed an excellent support team with the same mindset. They seem to be an unfussy lot that just go about their business.
4. He does not worry unduly about the opposition but concentrates on his own team's strengths.
5. Is respectful of all around him, including crap refs.

I am hoping the careful choice of Hoskins could be his masterstroke this year.

And it will be interesting to see his grander plans as we (hopefully) move up the leagues.

Lets hope Hoskins does a Bobby Davison at the sty

If you venture onto Porktalk, that's the way they feel about their manager, they just love him, despite that fact he's the most loathsome man in football, bar none.

I agree with you by the way.

Another couple of things about this season's United under Danny - very few injuries and a far better disciplinary record -are you listening Mr. Beattie??

The contrast between Wilson and egomaniac Megson and the self-appointed world's leading raconteur Keith Hill is enormous, particularly on the local media. Radio Sheff hang off every word of GM/KH. I'm sure Andy Giddens literally pissed himself recently with excitement over Hill"s latest hilarious (sic) monologue.

Completly agree.... I was among blades to be sceptical about Danny but now I will hold my hands up and admitt I was wrong.
Best footy I have seen at the lane in years. Got the players playing for him and respects all round him.
Top Manager

What position would we be in if Micky Adams had continued and the squad was the same?

I'd guess scuffling around midtable, with a worse disciplinary record and a series of loan signings. See Sheffield Wednesday 2010-11 for reference.

Been really impressed with the way Wilson has gone about his business. I was one of the few that actually stated he might not do a bad job. His career has been pretty average, but his teams have aways played good football. He has done some good stuff with teams (e.g. Barnsley) and there is no reason why he cannot do it again. I've just really enjoyed the way he has got us playing. We're winning again, we play decent stuff and even when we go a goal (or two) down you think we can come back. He is sensible, articulate and balanced. He's just kept his head down and got on with the task. Neve blaming refs (or the weather or whatever), not egotistical and claiming it was down to him and always complimentary to his players. After some of the planks we've had over the years, it is very refreshing. I really respect him.

He really is despicable, Megson.

Agreed.
Total set of wankers at radio pork n dingle.
They slaver over each word the ginger bast.rd utters.
A big difference to the indifference afforded Wilson, who is interviewed reluctantly when compared to the joyous way the tw.ts introduce Hill.

Warnock..plank.Egotistical, full of sh.t and a very very average manager.
Blackwell.Plank.
Robson.Plank.
Adams.Plank.
Wilson.Does a good job.

I dread to think. Adams was a broken man by the end of last season. I doubt many of the players would have been up for playing under him had he remained in charge. Truly the worst manager I've seen us play under, and that's including robson

Nice man. And a Blade. But not all Blades do well here. (See Billy Sharp.) I would be gutted if I was a Blade through and through and was a player / manager with us and didn't succeed.

With Danny we know he is a sensible down to earth guy who tells it as it is. No b*llsh!t. Some stuff he keeps to himself on radio interviews, but thats fair enough. He has the same aim as all of us this season. To get out of this rubbish league. Lets hope he does it.

Its time...

Well I was going to wait until we were in the Championship, but got to finally eat humble pie on this one.

I've tried not to be critical of him since the season started, said what i needed to during preseason.

Apologies to McCabe for doubting his judgement on Wilson, but he's done well so far. Tonight is a MASSIVE result.

Fantastic job so far, lets hope it continues and he takes us up.

Apologies to Danny Wilson for doubting his appointment.

Well done Danny!

For the first time in a few years we're smiling again and enjoying football, personally I was never against his appointment but glad he's proving some people wrong, it's the best football we've seen for god knows how long, and on a shite pitch!

Also nice to not cringe when our manager is on the radio, already looking forward to the next game.

Cheers Danny
