I'm immensely proud of this club, it's always been a family club, but it's now, more than ever, a club that's a family. The success and the togetherness of the past few years has only served to make us prouder to be Blades.

The tight knit nature of the group assembled by Wilder and Knill is the crux of it all, and the sincerity of quotes from several of the players acknowledging that this is the best group they've been a part of - is testament to that. Those sentiments aren't just said in the heat of the moment either, amidst success.

Then the social media team have had a big part to play, the production off-the-field has come on no end and is very professionally done nowadays, making the squad and behind the scenes more accessible than ever before.

And in terms of the individual players' social media, We've moved from generic snippets like this...

Match Day!

To players who regularly embrace all aspects of being a Blade, singing the songs, talking of being Bladesmen, celebrating with fans - as if they were born into it as we were. And that's no slight on Scougs, I liked the lad, but we've come so far.

And now I see James Shield's latest tweet:

And the family club continues to grow.

Whatever this next season brings, I know this lot will give it their all, and battle together for all the reasons excellently outlined in the misconceptions article shared on here. And you never know, we might just pick up a few family members amongst the neutrals, along the way.

Didn't realise how big our squad actually was.

Didn't realise we'd signed Shipps again, but he quite suits lime green.

I just hope people don't go over the top when we're not doing so well at times in the season.

...and just look at the level of buzz and interest surrounding us, and for a team that are being largely overlooked as the misconceptions article says!

I've not said this much, but this must be killing those on the outskirts of the city 😉
