What a decent bloke

Each to their own, but for me, liking a guy should be below interview style in the weight of argument.

Both being at about the same level as “makes a good cup of tea”. :)
Did you see the performance at Everton ??
Takes time for a team to settle in especially after Chris left .

I’m not sure I’m willing to risk our one season with full parachute payments on a manager with no track record and only two decent performances since March.

28000 at championship games next season , not so sure about that .
A mid table season would average 21k, Norwich type season =26/27k.... a bottom 8 season = 18/19k.
Unless like me you're long term afflicted, too many footy fans are fickle unfortunately.

Exactly
Although if he isn't backed he'll fail like so many others who aren't a "fan of the club, a "fan" manager that understand the clubs retardness.

But Jocanivich being unveiled means 28,000 - 30,000 at next seasons games

Hecky being appointed means 18,000 at next seasons games.

Assuming anybody can go of course.

About half a million quid per game less I'd guess, so taking the cheap option makes no sense at all
It will all depend on government restrictions too. We don't know if there may still be limits on things come Autumn again.

If the pricing is right and we don't have an absolute complete firesale then I'd expect attendances to be reasonable whoever is in charge. Fans are desperate to get back.
Probably around 25,000 mark.

18,000 just because it's Hecky makes no sense. Plus I think we have that amount just in season tickets.

If there are no restrictions, i'd imagine we will average 27k pretty solidly throughout the season, if we are in the mix for top 6 i'd expect regular sell outs.

We averaged 25,605 last time we went back down from the PL

But this time pigs are in 3rd tier, we're back from a pandemic, and fairly recently we were a top half PL team... all pointing to great attendances... can't wait

My Mum fancies him 🙆‍♂️
Is it the way he folds his arms during matches that she likes?
If we're looking for the best arm folding manager ever, he's our man! ;)
Can you put up with a whole season of arm folding?
Hopefully Slav will be given the job and will wave his arms about a lot more

You can’t be serious?

We played well at Everton, so let’s give him what one of the biggest jobs in one if the biggest leagues in Europe?

Sheffield United in the championship?

To say he's from Barnsley he's quite articulate. I work with a few from their, who just make inaudible noises.
I wonder if the irony of suggesting that Barnsley fans are educationally sub-normal whilst using the oxymoron 'inaudible noises' will be lost on you. I assume you meant 'inarticulate noises', but I suppose we can't all be as articulate as Barnsley folk, can we?

Because he's already got an excellent track record of getting two teams promoted from the Championship to the Premier League
...and then failed and left ? So should we be gambling on his slightly odd record ?

There's a small handful of managers who have achieved two promotions.

What type of a track record are you expecting for this type of job, or do you not expect any track record?

12 games In the premier league with a £100m squad built by the chairman that Ranieri couldn't do anything with either.

Only ever a short term appointment with Watford. 4th manager in 5 weeks.

Still got both promoted, and played some bloody good football getting there. That's the aim isn't it?

Ha ha! Best put down of the week! 😁👏🏻

Nigel Adkins was a lovely guy.

Your post is BS.

Adkins was a great speaker....so articulate, so positive and upbeat.
I was initially really impressed and felt motivated after all his pre match and post match press conferences.

Then I realised he was saying the same positive stuff after every single match....regardless of the performance or result.
I remember 1 game where we were pathetic and only had 1 or 2 shots the whole match...never looking like scoring.
Even then....Adkins would say “I saw plenty of positives“ and “It’a work in progress and I can see a steady progression with a few bumps in the road”

The penny eventually dropped. Then I realised Adkins was more of a natural salesman, a bull shitter.

Ridiculous to call for this guy after one good performance. What about the shit shows weve endured recently. In particular the quote "The early goal killed us" against Palace - we had another 88 minutes (plus injury time) to sort it. Just not the managerial response I want for my team.

Because he’s got a track record, unlike Heckinbottom.

Why on earth people put anything other than the tiniest of weights on how they come across in interviews is beyond me.
There are few if any top managers who are not good in interviews

A track record of being at a club for a short term maybe pointing to something different to what we want over a three to five year period.
He may be the best we can find in which case he will have my support for so long as he is here.

I think the aim is not only to get us there but to keep us there.
He may be the best available that is prepared to come in which case let’s hope he has the desire to stay and take us where Burnley and the like have arrived.
Whoever arrives deserves our support regardless of whether in our limited wisdom we think he is the best. He will certainly have mine and my wisdom is waning !
