What’s important?

Fed up of hearing about how well we have played this season. Yes we’ve done well, yes I’m proud of the season as a whole and yes I’m also slightly disappointed that we haven’t kicked on from our amazing start, but people who use the ‘quality’ of football as a barometer for success frustrate me. There is no good or bad styles of football, the only thing that matters is how effective we are and how many games we win and trying to get promoted, that’s what we come to watch. I don’t care if we play long ball next year (which we obviously won’t), I want us to get the playoffs. What’s important, playing well or winning?

I love our style of play but people, with pinchy as an example, who glorify the style of play at the expense of results, it just isn’t a sustainable model for a club who can’t afford the players who can play that style of football to a high standard

Why can't we have both? The quality of football has been a pleasure to watch this season. Yes, we have come up short of a few results, but that's just due to a lack of quality of some of the component parts.

Cant have both cos we can’t afford it, that’s what I’m saying mate although I haven’t worded it very well, it’s either we invest and keep our style with added quality, or we lose the style and try to lump our way to the playoffs in a traditional blades way, can’t hvae the style without investment (as proven)

If you read it again, you'll find that I am actually agreeing with you. Wilder needs the backing to improve the quality of the squad, but we can improve and continue playing a style of football that is good to watch.

No it isn't. It's nice, especially after all their pre season crap, but can you honestly say you'd have been unhappy with the season if they'd been top and we'd been second?

Wilder gets teams playing some luvly attacking football, great to watch, it’s not the style though, it’s cash, look at Colin at Cardiff, dire football but up there because of £.
