I actually feel sorry for the Baggies fans after that win. Their crap team have given them false hope....As we all know, it’s the hope that kills you. Whereas our crap team have given us no hope at all. UTB

Staggering isn’t it? I learned that rule when I was 8 and the exact same thing appeared as the “What happened next?” round on Question of Sport.

Ian Botham knew it too.

I vividly remember when I was about 10 playing a match when this happened to our team. We couldn’t believe it and thought the ref was wrong. Then we found out the rule.

That’s an understatement - look at this for a stat.

Given the pelters our strikers get, consider that Maupay played in all 3 of those games. McGoldrick has more goals per min this season than Maupay, incidentally, and Billy has miles more. The point being - even the striker that loads of people think we should have signed has been fairly shit this season, all decent strikers miss chances, our problems may not be so much with the strikers as elsewhere on the pitch.
