I was indeed my friend :-)

I was also there for the 45 mins after the final whistle when the barstewards locked us in 'for our own safety'

God I hate 'em!!!

Bit nervy walking back to the car. Had to pass several pubs spilling over with Leeds fans. Thought it wise not to show any colours!

Can't believe that was 5 years ago. Feels like yesterday.

I wasn't complaining about the stewards locking us in for 45 mins though. A fantastic 45 mins of singing at the emptying, and finally empty, stadium. The team warming down on the pitch in front of us with Kozzy doing his traditional comedy act, as we sang each player's name in turn. One of the great Blades nights.

I have to agree about the nervy walk back to the car though. The reality is that keeping away fans locked in is the worst possible thing to do. When you're let out at the same time as the home fans, providing you don't show colours within seconds you're lost amongst the home fans, unidentifiable. Leaving at that time you stuck out like a sore thumb.

I was there, sat with Bergen and a few of the Norwegian Blades.

Brilliant night. Don't think my memory's playing tricks when I say that Bromby was doing the 'easy clap' when he came over to take a throw in during the game??

Everyone poured into the ground early having been advised by the feds that it would be the best place to get a beer only to be told that there was no beer on sale due to police advice (or was that the 1-1?). Wankers. Might be worth bearing in mind for Saturday that one.

I think that was the 1-1, I came from Sheffield on the train for the 4-0 and after eventually being allowed to leave the station in the direction of my parents house by the police I vaguely remember drinking in the ground.

I am quite surprised they haven't changed the kick off time.

I was there alright :D

Myself, Brother and Dad had barely sat down when Danny Webber ripped their right hand side to pieces before slamming it inside the near post.....total delerium!

The best bit was our euphoric attitude towards being kept in the ground after the final whistle....."we're not goin home, we're not goin home, we're not goin, we're not goin, we're not goin home!"

Here was me as the Leeds fans left :hello:

Great night

I also quite enjoyed the "shit ground, no fans, shit ground, no fans" when it was only us left in the ground

I was sat with my Dad, who's a Leeds fan, in the upper tier of their main stand. I had to sit on my hands all match, was a fantastic night. Didn't even Monty score? :D

I was also sat in a pretty much deserted section of the upper tier towards the away corner. Quite a few Blades in there with same idea of which a handful couldn't contain themselves when Webber scored. No trouble makers just couldn't contain it and the few Leeds fans around spotted their reaction and alerted stewards and the Blades were led out. One of those chucked out was a 70 years old bloke who I know well and is as fanatical about SUFC as they come. I saw him sat a few rows in front but didn't join him because I knew he'd be up if we scored.

I think Hulse hit the bar for Leeds with a great strike pretty early in the game

You've always been more impressed with what the opposition do.....

Stop baiting him :)

The knockers get enough stick for doing that.

I read alot of your nonsense yesterday about aggressive posts and ridicule of fellow Blades and thought I'd resist responding but I've caved in so let me tell you formally and as politely as I can that it was a load of drivel. No examples, no names. There is nobody happier than me that Speedo is in charge. That he has a joke of a squad relative to the wages we pay out is not his fault, nor is the shite we get fed by McCabe and Birch.

Thats fine mic :)

You see I dont mind you calling it drivel because my opinions are exactly that (opinions) and people can take or leave them as I'm sure they will. However a lot of posters on here take a similar view to myself. It seems the administrators do as well, as they have made it clear that offenders have been issued warnings.

I'm sorry I didn't provide names and examples for you. I felt it best to discuss the issues without pointing fingers.....A) because that's not my place and B) because everyone who has suffered abuse on here knows who the offenders are.....

I mentioned no names as you quite rightly pointed out. But I always sensed that someone would respond as soon as it hit a raw/guilty nerve.....again no names mentioned :)

Ive enjoyed reading your relatively 'formal and polite' posts today. You seem more upbeat than usual. Anything in particular brought that change about?

I remember it well, I started the game on the 2nd to back row. I think I finished the game about 4 rows from the back.

I have never had bruised shins that I have been so proud of. :D

You didn't need to mentions names I suppose because it is so obvious who you are talking about. The problem is the lack of examples. Repetitive, boring, pointless - guilty. Nasty, abusive, vindictive towards other posters - not guilty.

It seems a little pointless to provide examples to be honest. The examples are littered all over the forum and those on the receiving end remember them quite well I'm sure.

Fortunately for me, I haven't been a victim myself because I dont allow myself to be. I have a fairly care-free disposition when it comes to this forum so abuse just rolls straight off my back. In other words it doesnt offend me, even if it does other people.

I never said you were guilty of anything mic and as your conscience is clear you dont need to prove anything by telling me.

I was there. I was in an executive box. I had been invited by a friend who was also a Blade to the said box. My mate had been invited by a Leeds fan who he did buisness with. We were well wined and dined by this guy and other Leeds fans. We both expected the usual drubbing we usually get there. Therefore we decided to make full use of the offered hospitality. Food and drink were copiously taken. The box was bang on the half way line. At KO we were sat outside behind the hordes of dirty scum fans. Of course super Dan Scored in vitrually the first minute. We both being well pissed by now were up out of our seats roaring.......... NOT A GOOD IDEA!!! There must have been 300/400 very angry scum fans up in their seats glaring at us and if looks and insults could kill we would have been dead a 1000 times over. Our host wasnt too impressed either. And when we hit another one in shortly afterwards we had all on to contain ourselves. Of course we all know what went on to happen.

It was just one of those nights. You thought you were dreaming. Fantastic . Will never forget it.

Dont think the guy did any more buisness with my mate again.

I was there. Aaron Lennon and Kilgallon played for Leeds.

I can remember me and my mate laughing at how fat Sean Gregan was for most of the match. He came on as a sub halfway through the first half and he already looked knackered by the time he had jogged into postion. He must have been at least 3st overweight.

All this is a bit galling. My mate went but didn't ask me. :(

He phoned me after the game and was utterly delirious. Made no sense whatsoever - he just bibbled... :)

Yes remember it well, me and a mate were invited to a corperate box and the seats were just behind the leeds fans. We were told if your team scores and you jump up you were on your own. Anyway after the first goal went in we were jumping about good style, the leeds fans turned around to look our way then turned back pointing to the away fans shouting abuse absolutely hilarious. I remember our fans being locked in as well never stopped singing and the leeds fans in the next box to us fighting amongst themselves and getting thrown out, perfect night. Hope this one goes the same way but I can't see us scoring four goals this time.

I was there that night. Can remember us all singing " top tier , top tier give us a song " as we all pointed and laughed to the totally deserted top of their big stand!

Yes I was there. Used to work in Weeds for many years so it was always one I went up for. That 90 mins + lock-in time was definitely one of my all time favourites. Even made up for all the drubbings we took over the years. And a free bus trip back to the railway station thrown in, very thoughtful. Just a shame they didn't think to include a free bar on the bus or I would have guessed the whole occasion had been organised by Carlsberg. Bring on a repeat please.

Also enjoyed the warm down, remember Kozluk stripping off his shirt when we shouted to him?

Great pictures Bergen. You were sat/stood very close to me by the looks of it. Great night. Kozluk in the warm down has to be one of my all time great Blades memories. He deserves a game this season just for that...

Have to agree with earlier posters though, that it was one of the most nerve-wracking walks back to the car I've ever experienced.
