We've performed well in 3 out of the last 4 games. We should take huge confidence from the Villa and Derby games.

As it stands, Coutts is the only first choice player who'll definitely miss out. Hopefully Brooks can return.

Stearman's looking more at home in that back 3.

Lundstram and Fleck are definitely building a decent partnership in midfield.

We've found our best strike combination with Clarke and Donaldson.

It's unlikely that we'll lose 2 home games in a row.

And most significantly of all, Wednesday are a complete farce and have a big injury list.

I felt it was set up for us well last time but it didn't appear anywhere near as favourable as it does for us this time.

We're going to have to deal with being comfortable favourites. We CANNOT afford to be overconfident. I'm expecting them to appoint a new manager in time for the game after today's pathetic defeat (wish they drew) so that could make it harder. I'm expecting quite a tight game. But there's no denying we have a magnificent opportunity to double them.

Ricky, as soon as i saw that title I was going to tell you to fuck all, but you are bang on the money.

Coming out of the match I felt really confident we was going cut the pigs up in to assortment of chops, loins, bacon rashers and offal, but them I remembered that the Sheffield derby often turns the form book upside down.

I’ve got me pepper pig brolly ready...( we can but dream) :)

It’s a Derby game. Anyone can win on the day.

The fans have to play their part and make the atmosphere electric.

Going to start a thread about that too.

The Kop need to be on the same page, for once. No petty 'us and them' bollocks. You know, it's quite an important game. So let's focus on being as loud and intimidating as possible, eh?

You just had to go and do it didn't you.

Form out the window etc etc...BUT...if we play like we can (even post-Coutts), if we play our normal game...if our players really want it (that's a given)...then we have it in us to smash them out of sight and ruin their dreams for years. We all know that carloss had a dream (ha ha)...but I think Wilder had a dream (that he's kept to himself), and that dream involved smashing them to bits twice in a season, and leaving all 100,000 billion of them frustratedly grunting into their troughs.

One dream is dead, one is still alive. One will be dead forever...one will come true in 11 days.

We will annihilate the unclean and send them snuffling back through their tunnel in shame. Bolton was a blip...it's out of the way now. Expect a 100% WilderBlades performance on Jan 12th. They're going to be weeping and crying for 10 years by the time we're done with them.

Big question is how the Wednesday players handle the occasion at BDTBL.
At Hillsborough our boys were unfazed, confident and looked completely self-assured.
Will the pigs players be able to match that?
If we get off to a good start it could be a great day but no arrogance or over-confident predictions needed in a derby.
UTB

A lot depends on who they appoint. If it's another foreign journeyman then he may not have time to get to grips with the egos and get them up for it, never mind grasp the huge importance of the match. They may just be better giving Bullen the game as he might be able to get them focussed although today's showing wouldn't inspire confidence.
They may also have a few big players back. Hutchinson, Loovens and Boyd should at least appreciate the occasion and diving twat may yet play a part.
Always hard to predict but I would bet my mortgage on us performing well. Things just might not land for us on the day.

Definitely big favourites though.

You're not the only one! I think he'll go above and beyond to try and make sure we do.

No givens in Derby's , we have to go out there and earn the right undoubtedly there is the unknown that both us will have possibly a few new faces involved which can influence it either way & 100% we need play our part in making it a cauldron of noise & an intimidating atmosphere

What, emphasise that we can't be overconfident?

We could say what we want on here and it wouldn't affect Wilder and his players. They're too professional for that.

But you are forgetting about them gods sat up in da sky.

A few choruses of 'You're not fit to wear the shirt' and booing today won't have helped their cause :)

It's the best opportunity we've had in years to absolutely hammer them. Hopefully, we will. All my pig mates think we will slaughter them.

As fans we can be as over confident and cocky as we like, it wont influence the outcome, loud, aggressive and in their faces from us, their fans will not relish coming to the lane on a Friday night, I know one or two who wont come because of the intimidation, start from the off from the fans and the players will follow, go one up and they could do a Sunderland, over confident? No I am saying what it will feel like to them, they wont fancy it, I have to be honest and say if the roles were reversed would I fancy it, no, I wouldn't, already looking forward to it.

There were a fair few on here & Twitter who predicted the same outcome for us at Pigland when we only had a Clarke and Brooks strike force.

No givens in a derby game.

G and H Block will be in good voice

Them getting battered today surely means they'll have a new manager in for the derby, which is not great timing for us. Hopefully it's someone shit. Maybe David Weir fancies another go.

Whoever it is, assuming it is a quick appointment, won`t have much time to get `em sorted. As long as we are concentrated, respectful, and composed we should win. Let`s make sure they are intimidated by the atmosphere we can generate.

The consensus on Saturday in Glasgow was that Celtic would score 3,4 possibly 5... the Celtic forum's were predicting a massacre...

it ended 0-0. Celtic were lucky to draw....

I'll be keeping my powder dry until 2200 on the 12th.

It really is the hope that kills you....

Got a feeling it will be their new managers first game and he'll probably just be thinking just don't lose. Could be a frustrating game.

Indeed. Nothing is a given.

They were all set to give our boys a spanking until we shut 'em up. Get ahead of ourselves and the reverse could easily happen.

Oh, and a fat dose of new manager syndrome might be involved too.
