Totally agree. We have spent less this season on transfer fees (and I suspect wages) than any of the pervious 5 seasons in L1 but the players we have brought in have largely been a success and been good. We should maintain the policy of trying to buy up and coming players rather than splashing ridiculous sums on one player like we did on Brayford (fees and wages) and Hammond (wages). Barnsley have shown it can be done and if (unlike them) we can hang onto our best players and recruit additional good players, whilst sadly unloading those who will not be good enough, there is no reason why we cannot build a team that can challenge for the play offs next season. Hopefully we can also blood some of the Academy kids as well. I think we all know where we need to strengthen. The skill will be to find the players for those positions and buy them at a sensible price. Wilder and his team have shown that they can do this at L1 level and I have no reason to doubt they will do it at Championship level too. Very excited.

I hope we scout the lower leagues for up coming players. When a decent championship striker (Rhodes) is going for £10m we need to be intelligent in our scouting as personally wouldn't want us spunking that kind of cash on one player/

I would be fucking annoyed if we bought a so called decent striker in the name or mould of Rhodes . Agree in what you say .

The majority of teams that have gone up from league 1 over the last 7 years have not come back down yet, and I don't see why we should either. Survival and consolidation is all I'm bothered about for next season.

I haven't the slightest fear of relegation. I was just saying that if anyone was thinking next year would see youngsters givenarun they will be mistaken, and rightly so.
