I presume its to stop Wednesday fans from buying tickets.

I believe it’s more draconian than that
it’s to stop Unitedites buying their Wednesdayites friends a ticket.
Although there’s no evidence, no recent incidents of Wednesday fans being in home areas.
So I’m unsure why the Safety committee would be so strict making it harder for casual fans to attend.

Update from official site.
Approximately 300 seats (the majority of which are restricted view) remain on the Kop for this fixture.

The Tony Currie South Stand, Westfield Health Corner and HE Barnes Upper Tier are now completely sold out.

There are approximately 100 seats remaining in the Family Stand and a handful of restricted view seats in the Pukka Pie Corner.

Not the thousands predicted by some then?

Could it be that United are expecting plod to have walked thousands of wendy supporters due to safety factors? You never know, some irresponsible dolt may put plod in an unassailable position and it's best that the wendy massive arrive safely, even if they miss 20-30 minutes of the game? At least United will have seats available for those pigs without tickets.

The police and the Safety Advisory Group could refuse permission for spectators to be at the game .

Hillsborough has the same issues

The SAG are clueless cunts. Towards the end of the Wigan game last Saturday, they asked fans in the BLUT to exit via the Westfield Corner or the metal staircase on the John Street end. Now that is an accident waiting to happen, it's no more than a fire escape. If anything should occur, the SAG would come out with the usual 'lessons have been learned' and it'd be tea and medals for the senior coppers.

Lose against Norwich and he won't be in charge......apparently

Nothing to do with Chuckle Brother, though. According to some plank on FH yesterday, Wednesday's opponents are 'always on a good run'. Yeah. Their good run starts after they've played Wendy.
