Wendy fan MP concerned about crushing at Bramall Lane.

Maybe the scruffy cunts should stop using the tunnel and causing problems by all crawling out at once

I'll put my tin hat on and say he has a point (to a certain extent).

Turnstiles haven't been working properly for a while now, they are incredibly slow compared to when they were first installed. Usually takes 3 or 4 goes with the season card.

Also 3 turnstiles isn't ideal.....however that is more or less par for the course at every ground with a similar away allocation where home and away fans are housed within the same stand so pointing the finger at us specifically when he claims to have visited most grounds comes across as point scoring to make up for their lowly position in the league. I'm sure I remember Betts speaking up for SUFC in the Commons when the Tevez saga was raised. Guess he has reverted to type.

Its also 1 more turnstile than we were afforded at the sty last season. Perhaps one of his constituents might like to remind him of what happened there and see if he champions that cause with similar enthusiasm?

He's the reason I don't vote in Woodhouse. It's either him or the Tories.
Vile little man.

Isn't there a Green or some little independent bloke who's put up his own deposit?

You should turn out, if only just to go and spoil a ballot paper. You could even write "Betts is a twat" on it, if it makes you feel better

If any Blade votes for this steaming pile, they want forcing to wear blue n white for the rest of their pointless lives.

Clive Betts is a utter cunt of the highest order.

Let’s begin by examining his political career.

He was in charge of Sheffield City Council in 1989, the same authority which had a legal obligation to ensure that Hillsborough had a valid safety certificate.

He was also caught employing his young Brazilian lover as a researcher in 2003, and also was caught red handed as being implicit in a fraudulent application for residency for the aforementioned Brazilian. (I nearly used the term rent boy for Betts lover but he had given up his previous employment as a male escort shortly before the shitstorm happened so I’ve neglected to use that term as it would be factually incorrect, and you never know which eyes are prying)

He can't be all that bad Brownie because the good folk of Sheffield vote him in time and time again and have given him a very good career as a politician.

I walked down the Moor and via Saint Mary's gate to the Kop entrances on the corner of John Street/Shoreham Street before the match.Despite setting of at 18:45 (I normally set of at 19:20 for a night game) when we came out of the underpass it was taking an interminable time to reach the Junction of BL/John Street. I'd estimate that there was between 600-800 Sheffield Wednesday fans all heading up Bramall Lane Street, and around 100-200 Blades. The Blades were being forced into the boundaries of the shop, and were struggling as we had bottles, traffic cones and smoke bombs being thrown in our direction. Some of the chanting from the Wednesdayites was grotesque: songs about Wilder's daughter and Billy Sharp's son; it was like pouring petrol on an open fire. Eventually (after maybe 25 minutes) we reached the metal barrier at the end of John Street and talked to a female copper who agreed that all the barrier had served to do was slow down Blades fas and leave us as sitting ducks. I should add, despite the Blades being in the distinct minority we were being charged at by both police and Wednesday fans. I've been walking that way to games since the 90s and this is the first time I've had to serious considered changing my route for future big games. I blame the police primarily, and the Wednesday fans who all seemingly arrive at the same time and acted like gutter scum (no it wasn't a minority)..

Absolute scum.
Has Clive got anything to say about that the leeching fucking dipstick?

I got to the ground about 30 minutes or so before kick off and I saw Wednesday fans being surrounded quite closely by the coppers. They pretty much had a group of them pinned in against the wall of Bramall Lane the stand. Not seen that happen before with other fans and I did think they were being a bit squashed unnecessarily.

They did similar with Barnsley fans last season but it seemed like they allowed them more room to actually queue up and get through the turnstiles.

If there was a bit of a crush then it was solely down to the wank policing on the night that we have come to expect from the SYP. Lessons are never really learned at SYP.

Couldn't see all the way up BL from where I was, but the street and pavements looked extremely busy. A lot of the bodies seemed to be police who just got in the way and slowed down fans.

Yep I could hear Wednesday fans when walking past them on Bramall Lane. I didn't notice they were there at first as they were being that penned in by the coppers, I just assumed it was group of coppers waiting for them to arrive.

The SYP couldn't give a shit about policing football matches and it shows in their "organisational skills" on match days. They draft in other police forces who have no clue where the fuck they are and who are about as useful as a condom machine in the vatican.

That vile little man is just trying to deflect from his own teams problems. Talking of problems, that horrid clusterfuck clickbait monstrosity of a so called web presence needs dismantling & someone who knows what they are doing put in charge of a new one.

The police won't let it lie until there's another major incident at a football match and they turn round and say "See, I was telling you the truth all along". What they won't tell you is that the situation was contrived by them for their own vindictive purposes. Last Friday and last season at the sty are two glaring examples and need investigating by an independent body.

Left early from sheaf island to avoid any issues, as the police advise, walked the usual route down London road to the sportsman (rip) and was met with a blockade and a camera van pointed at us, already the plastic (thankfully) glasses were flying from both sets of idiots as the pigs marched past, 15 minutes later we’re still there for no reason other than the police standing firm. Everybody long gone.

I decide to go toward the ground round the back and come out near the petrol station as time is running out, it’s wide open! so I go back and get everybody else and we cross the road, so why hold us pointlessly if the next street on was open?.

Anyway we cross the road to see a barrier up at John street preventing us walking down, a large swell of blades crushing at the right hand side while the cops were at the left stood watching it, they told us to join the crush if we wanted to get into the ground, now it’s 10 mins to kick off.

Getting through the barrier somebody gets shoved over and the cops on the other side start to panic then get abuse and try to arrest some guy on the floor while the people coming through the gap lose their rag with them and rightfully so.

On getting to the turnstiles they are malfunctioning for some paper ticket customers (we had banter with the poor sods, we didn’t just push forward like they appear to have done at the other end) so that takes us to kick off time and then the minutes silence and another crush at the top of G whilst everybody at the top of the gangway stands silent.

Those outside the entrance swell to a bigger group and on hearing the cheer after the silence another pushing match ensues, now I have no option but to go with the flow and we end up shoving the lads stood up down the gangway, we don’t have a choice because the games starting and there’s at least 80 behind me trying to get into the stand, you gotta go with it or get trampled.

Nice one SYP..

My solution...

Ban away fans at this game and solve all this shit, I’m fine with it, others won’t be but that’s your opinion and it’s respected, but all this for a poxy 2:700 wendies.

This game could be a great celebration, decent kick off times, pubs open, streets open and fans mixing through the afternoon in the lead up to the game.. no pig fans in town, no over zealous policing and we don’t have to get treat like shit in the return fixture.. win win?

Hadn't heard about much of this shit until now.

They just get better and fucking better don't they?

I'll never tire of saying what an utter disgrace they are.

SYP. Fit for purpose?

He saw someone burst through 2 police cordons and punch a child to the ground? If this had happened surely some one would have been arrested and the incident reported on along with kidney punching and wheelchair tipping.

Irrelevant pig scum with an agenda. As with the other 50 million of them, sad cunt.

Typical of the bleating Bastards.
They're crying about it now on football heaven, I'm filling up

It's the latest bandwagon for them to jump aboard as it seems like their bus broke down on Friday night.

Yes, Football Heaven has allowed itself to be hijacked by the whining Wednesday bastards aided and abetted by failed politician Betts. 'They weren't allowing enough fans in quickly enough' says one idiot. So what should we have done? Let everybody straight in a la Hillsborough 1989? If the visitors end should start to fall apart through lack of investment, what do they suggest? Cover it in tarpaulin?

Betts is a fucking disgrace and should look closer to home before spouting his inane, self-serving opinions. From Wikipedia:

In 2003 Betts was suspended from the House of Commons for 7 days for irregularities involving the employment and visa of Jose Gasparo, a Brazilian student with previous experience as a male escort. The Telegraph newspaper reported on 10 July 2010 that Betts' partner and parliamentary assistant, James Thomas, had tried to edit this fact from Betts' English Wikipedia page in an attempt to cover it up.

Betts was found guilty of breaching the MPs' code of conduct, with the Standards and Privileges Committee stating that he had acted "extremely foolishly" and had risked damaging public confidence in the integrity of Parliament. Particular concerns involved Betts' failure to disclose Gasparo's background to Parliamentary authorities and the fact that Betts had knowingly photocopied an altered document on Gasparo's behalf. Betts apologised unreservedly for his behaviour, which had been described as "well below the standard expected of a Member in terms of ... never undertaking any action which would bring the House of Commons or its members generally into disrepute".

We hear on FH of 'women and children crying...' outside Bramall Lane last Friday, but nothing about the pigs' vile chants about Billy Sharps son. It's like listening to BBCs biased reports about Gaza Strip.

Look, United will take no lectures on crowd safety FROM WEDNESDAY, THEIR FANS, SYPD OR A FAILED, CORRUPT POLITICIAN.

When they have the debrief next week will there be any actual football fans who went to the game involved in this ?

Also i see we are going to get another advisory group set up. Will there be any ordinary football fans involved in this or will it just be full of people who have never been to a football match.
But more to the point why do we need another advisory group ?
In my view all the other advisory group SAG have done is make matters worse.

I will give SYP some free advise instead of setting advisory groups up why not a few of you go and see how your fellow officers up and down the country in London, Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester deal with their local derbies.

He should be complaining about the knobs coming in through the exit of the bogs on the cop at half time.

F***ing gridlock in there so no one could get a piss.
They should put turnstiles on those toilets.

See he has made reference to 'aggressive United supporters' trying to get at his timid little Owls on the way into the ground as well.

No mention of the the obscenity and saliva wielding specimens that greeted Blades around and about Leppings Lane end last season eh?
Spot on Stretch -I was spat on and kicked by those blue and white "heroes" at Leppings Lane last season when I was on my own waiting for my mate to arrive with my ticket, who luckily didnt get the tram but was still held up by those
"masterminds" of policing SYP !

My first reaction was what a stupid idea and what a rubbish atmosphere that would be.

But on reflection I agree with you. Contrary to it creating a poor atmosphere I actually think it would be fantastic and intimidating for the home team. Not only that but what did the Pig fans bring to the party anyway?

The sight of that disgusting attention seeking tub of lard Tango making everybody want to throw up?

Certainly they didn’t add to the atmosphere,.

Of course it would be reciprocated at the Swill but that’s probably not a bad thing considering the unsafe state of their rusty outdated embarrassment of a stadium.

..and currently I’d back our team to stand up and be counted, in fact I can’t remember a time I would doubt them in those circumstances.

They on the other hand...

I'd say there is a bigger problem on the corner of Shoreham St and Cherry St after games. Why the fuck don't they stop the traffic for 15 minutes when the crowd turns out. It can be utter chaos. Fans jamming up on the corner going in different directions, and bloody cars trying to get through them all.
