I think so...

Megatrain down on Saturday (dunno what time yet)... booked through East Midlands trains back.

This is a great option. I've just booked the train there and back via Megabus for £7 each way (sat and mon) so they're still available at that silly price now.

The trick is getting a hotel given the Marathon crowds. I plumped for a respectable(ish) gaff near StPancras for £60 a night including brekkie. The ability to roll straight onto the train home will be as welcome as the brekkie.

:)

You never know, this could be our lucky side! I'm just looking for something positive to think of prior to the game its hard as Wembley usually ends in disappointment.

Shite! Can't make it on Sunday...

Can't make it sat either for that matter!

Travel Lodge at Covent Garden works out about £90 each with breakfast

Don't they charge prices for the room rather than the number of people in them?

Think that's correct BornOnShoreham , I could be wrong but if memory serves me correct from stays in both Travelodge or Premier Inn it's a room rate, not based on how many use a room. It should explain this on their respective sites.

We've booked Premier Inn Luton catching train to West Hampstead then Jubilee Line to Wembley Park
£35 per room with free parking!

Having never stayed away and attended a game whilst having train travel and checked out of the room, are you allowed to take your bag in to Wembley?

Aye... but expect 'em to have a root around. Make sure your skiddies are on top to make sure the stewards regret it.

That'll be the new S24SU skiddies that's new to merchandising that you should have introduced within the next week so everyone is prepared;)
Thanks Linz.

We've booked train down on Fri night, stay with Brother in Law and then 20:40 train back on Sun - £10 per item for left luggage at St Pancras for up to 24 hrs.
Drop bag off at St P sun morning - go for a few pints - train to and from Baker Street to match, then pick luggage up before getting on train home

We've done that before, but as we're staying near Wembley on the Saturday night, we'd have to brave getting into central London on Sunday morning.

I think not :) We'll just pack light.

That's what I thought... Wednesday game was a different ground ;)
The new Wembley stadium was turned 90 degrees wasn't it ? So definitely a different end.

EDIT see this has been answered, that the pitch wasn't turned.

Which end did we have in 1925 ?

That a room for 4 booked as a stopgap till I get chance to browse properly later.

In a dilemma Blades, advice very much needed!

I'm on a stag do in Prague on FA Cup Semi weekend. We travel Friday (10th April) morning to Prague and come back Monday (14th April) night.

I've looked at many different options & potentially flying back, I'm stuck in two minds.

I can fly back Sunday morning only problem would be, what to do with suitcase?!

Would never forgive myself for missing Blades at Wembley but as a work colleague has just pointed out to me 'if you don't go Wembley & they lose then you've missed them losing again, if you don't go Wembley & they win then your gonna Wembley again for the final' - very true that

Decisions, decisions....

I'm not sure fans where given a designated end back then, think the ground was mixed?

I guess people have realised (sorry I cant be bothered to look through the whole thread) that the London Marathon is on that Sunday as well, which may well make it difficult to have a central London drink beforehand and guarantee to get out to the ground on schedule.

The vast majority of the marathon takes place around the South East of London (Greenwich/Canary Wharf etc) and then goes through the City of London and along the Embankment to the Mall.
Anywhere north of that and you'll be fine.
Even South of it will be OK if you're travelling to Wembley by tube.

Right... had to eat my soup cold but I think I (and everyone who asked us to sort them) are sorted.

Staying down for the weekend. Absolutely no idea what time we're setting off on Saturday as Foxy dealt with that side. Hotel room booked in a pub three miles from Wembley. Train back for £21 at 20:40 on Sunday evening.

Now to get Monday booked off work.
Cutting it fine Linz if there is o/t & pens.

Booked to go down Saturday afternoon (mega train £15 for me and the boy). Get in early evening and meet my wife in London who has a wedding Sat daytime in Market Harborough.

Still to book a hotel but will avoid centre (with the Marathon etc the next day).

Back Sunday night - trains all seem booked up (in meetings all day so did not have chance to get on and not sure it would have been fair on a 6 year old standing etc on a crammed train) so doing National Express (guaranteed seat for him) at 20.30 (even if games goes to extra time and pens should still have plenty of time to get to Victoria all being well) and drops near my house so be home for midnight.

Cost us less than £50 for both ways for all of us so that'll do.

Just to sort hotel and then tickets out now - do we reckon it will be 2 a piece for ST holders? Hope so. Really could do with 3 (with wife and son - wife who had to stop going when she had son) so may have my begging bowl out on here for any who may be able to get extras (sorry know a lot will do that probably!).

Might look into booking a hotel in the Watford/Luton area and go down Saturday - Monday. On the day of the game we'll no doubt venture into Harrow again and drink in The Moon On The Hill.
