Yes, Boro were a decent, organised side without being anything special going forward, but man that was frustrating.
Pedestrian, predictable and in the main and a far cry from the type of stuff we're used to.
Whether we showed them too much respect or just lacked self belief, I really don't know, but something went badly wrong today.
Rushed passes, slow, lethargic movement, panicky play, heading when having time to bring it under control, waiting for a man to be closed down before attempting to pass to him, kicking it out when there's time to put a foot on it, all things that happened toneet.
Still love dem Blades though.
Still trust CW though.
Still above W*********y though.
Come on you red and white wizaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrds!!

This threads embarrassing

Linesman should be embarrassed, we had issues but we didn't embarrass ourselves really.

Too scared of crosses, and stopped to think about it for 99% received passes. Need to be quicker going forward, but respectable at the back. Bash had a bit of a stinker, not sure about Stevens. Duffy and Brooks were good today, sped us up a bit.

Billy and Wilder will be fucking fuming.

haha get a grip

We've just got out of league one and played a far superior team
Some players in our side won't be good enough and some will grow into it

Unfortunately no one possesses the psychic powers needed to know which ones until we have played a few games and we don't have the tens of millions that Boro do to be able to launch the ball in the channels continually at their strikers who had more pace and height than our defenders but unfortunately are out of our price range

To be honest I'm really really proud of the lads!!
Worked our arses off against a £43m team and got robbed of a point.
Men against boys at times FTPE.
The gulf in class was apparent today, but what frustrated me more than anything was the way we ambled about.
It looked like we'd traded our 'go get 'em' approach to a 'we're Championship players now so we'll ease of and do it like the others do'

bit of a knob post mate, we fought like fuk in the 2nd half - there manager said how impressed he was, totally robbed by a cunt of a linesman who had already got a few offsides wrong earlier.

Was a bit average. Oh well, Boroughbridge is a bit of a pain but I think we'll be booking a bit more than a few days before the wedding. I have a few questions about the role of the season after dummying.

Let's fuck up Cardiff.

Was frustrating because we are better then that. First half we had no confidence on the ball and our defenders often took the easiest option of pumping it forward. That's not our strength. The goal was annoying, two individual mistakes. Blackman showed his experience. For me with more in net we don't concede that.

Second half was much better but still not our finest. And the late disallowed goal really rubbed it in.

There was positives though and I wouldn't feel embarrassed. Thought Samir and Stevens were good and look comfortable at this level. Duffy looks determined to make an impact, and ched looked to be involved in everything. We look like we need minor tweeks which is ok at this stage.

For 80 minutes today, we looked slow and ponderous, nothing like we normally play.
As I said, I don't know why, but I do know at times (you know, when we kept rushing, misplacing passes, heading the ball straight back to the opposition, lacking any kind of penetration) it was a bit embarrassing. Yes, I think we'll be OK and yes, that was one of the better teams we'll play this year, but them being good didn't cause us to mis-place passes and play so negatively. Where did that come from?!!

They stretched us, knocked us About, played the game (went down easy and made clever fouls) pressed well and took their chance.
Nowt to be embarrassed about mate.
JOC kept a 17 million quid striker in his back pocket

They pressed us and worked hard
It's a step up in speed of thought and I think it showed but our players and management are smart and they'll adapt

Hark at Ms Precious spitting the bile. Hypocrite.

Lost to the better team on the day, but embarrassing? Really? No grey areas in S2 eh?

The only embarrassing thing was the official's badly wrong decision on the "offside" goal.
At times Pinchy, yes it was.
We did lose to the better team I agree, but we looked out of our depth for long periods and couldn't do the basics very well.
At times it was embarrassing, but I guess more than anything, disappointing that we didn't show the watching public what we're really about

For me, we were too nervous. Didn't really try to equalise till stoppage time, then got the ball in the net.
Bad decision? Looked it
Sky proved it was correct in the end, however I honestly think that was luck from the linesman. It was soooo tight, he couldn't possibly have seen that with the naked eye.

Proud? Yes.
Disappointed? Yes.
Embarrassed? No, far from it.

I do fear Cardiff on Tuesday more than today's Boro though

Edit.. . Just seen the split screen is off in the other thread. Wank!

Started well and missed a great chance. Conceded shocking goal and very poor for rest of half. Second half was better but we didn't look like scoring until the late goal and the fkin cheating linesman.

1-0 against the favourites isn't terrible but feel frustrated and disappointed. We looked slow and ponderous at the back and had little up front. Favourites or not they were there for the taking.

We need to spend big money on better quality but that's been obvious all summer.

Yeah, we got schooled for about 20 minutes in the first half. But did we fold? Far from it, the opposite in fact. Slugged it out well in that second half.

Not really able to impose ourselves on them, but did a good job cancelling them out after the break. Pretty much says it all that their defensive midfielder got MOM. Their Galacticos were made to look totally ordinary.

Just think, when Bournemouth went up into this division three or four seasons ago, they lost their first two away games, 6-1 and 5-1.
