Just reading the updated match report on the BBC sport website and saw this:
"The win means Sheffield United move up to eighth with eight points, four clear of the relegation zone"
WE ARE 2 POINTS OFF A CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLACE FFS"!!!
Equal on points with Tottenham in 5th would have done, but 4 clear of relegation?
Or am I the only one looking up?!

We want to finish as high as possible obviously but we’ll always be in the “relegation dogfight “ bracket.

You, me and Wilder all looking up. No way should we be looking behind us.
 
Of course you are right, however our goal this season is to avoid relegation, not make the champions league.
So it’s reasonable to say we are well clear of our target at the moment.

Hate to break the news, but we won’t be level on points with 5th in April.
Reality is we have a few sides to play where we will do well to limit them to 3. Liverpool next being one of them.

Don’t let little things like this get to you. Once we stay up, it will be another 3 teams that will be the ones expected to go down. Then we can concentrate on the cups and breaking into the top 10 next season
 
true but the premier league is close even this far in, because we won 8th lost we would've been 16th, huge swing depending on results but yes we should be looking up

Think most of what you say was also said about Leicester City a few years ago.

Maybe so, but I’m realistic and we aren’t as good as that Leicester side at the moment. We lack that threat up top, we don’t have a Vardy with that pace and finishing to be the same threat.
40 points may well get us in the middle third somewhere. Reckon we will be 5 points clear of relegation rather than 5th!

Vardy is good, but I think Maddison compared to our midfield is the bigger talent gap.

Why does that bother you ? FFS be realistic
We are aiming for 40 points and will be dancing in the streets if we get them

They never seem to go down. Only 4 seasons outside the top flight in history, so I wouldn't be putting bets on them going down. (same with arsenal)

In fact the only time I ever recall them being in the bottom 3 in my lifetime at the end of the season, was a few minutes from the end, of the game I watched us go down at Chelsea!

In a way, must be boring in some respects. Any Blade who is 50 or so, could well have seen us play at every ground (or at least every division). Must be boring as an away fan.

I prefer out of the limelight. Cockiness of the top teams is in our favour IMO.
